Best 4 in order of who I seen play in the flesh would be 1 - Paul Gascoigne 2 - Peter Beardsley 3 - Kevin Keegan 4 - Jurgen Klinnsman
But, but, Klinsmann never played for Newcastle!

Yes, those dribbles by Maradona and Messi are spectacular. But I don’t think they are nearly as inventive and genius as what Cruijff did.

did gerd muller park his butt in the penalty box and watch his teammates do all the hard graft and creativity only to score from 3 yards past an already beaten goalie then take all the credit for himself then run to the corner flag, puff his chest out and declare himself the king.

He was certainly the first footballing celebrity. Dancing amoungst the audience whilst the Stones mime to The Last Time on TOTP, being dubbed 'El Beatle', night clubs and Carnaby Street. He was a pop-star as well as an exciting footballer. Sadly, it was the trappings of fame and fandom that led him down that dark path.

He never did that. The most modest guy in football history and of course the best scorer.

My favourite players (It doesn't mean that they were the best, though):
1. Steven Gerard (Football royalty)
2. Kenny Dalglish (The best ever)
3. Kevin Keegan (The mighty mouse. What a player!)
4. Diego Armando Maradona (No one could do what he did)
5. Lionel Messi (No one can do what he does)
6. Mohamed Salah (Always dangerous)
7. Johan Cruyff (A forerunner, a pioneer, a football entrepreneur!)
8. Socrates (He made football art)
9. Erik Mykland (In the mid-90s, Norway was ranked #2 in the world, and this guy was having a ball as a central midfielder, on an otherwise kinda grey norwegian team - a bit like Modric, but also with defensive qualities)
10. Rune Bratseth (Norway's best full back ever. Also the best full back in the Bundesliga)
11. George Best (Wow, just wow!)
The bench:
12. Steve Heighway (the best sub ever)
13. Zinedine Zidane (He had everything - even a temper...)
14. Cristiano Ronaldo (Can't stand the guy, but he scores, he scores...)

...My kinda list, Dandeee... thumbs up!
P.S.: you a Liverpool-man? I was in the Kop, last weekend, watching the derby... pretty poor result; though it's fair to say a draw was imminent, when seeing the line-up - and how the game evolved/ proceeded.
