Sad news smiling smiley

He did great string arrangements, and he worked with lots of artists, whether they were famous or not. He even added strings to a friend of mine's album.

RIP, Paul..

Was he the one who added those beautiful orchestral flourishes to Moonlight Mile? Stirring stuff indeed. RIP.

The only «confirmations» so far are from a few of his friends on Facebook. One of them mentioned diabetes issues.

No official confirmation, though.

Matthew Wilder confirms it in a tweet from 9 hours ago.
Didn’t read anything else about it. Strange.

The birth dates don't align. Wiki says he was born June 13, 1946.

Also the middle names are dissimilar...probably a different person.

Very saddened to read this. His work with the Stones and Elton John, among others, was sheer genius.

RIP Paul.

Paul Buckmaster should have written a biography even if was taped conversations that were then edited into book form. He did great orchestration and production for so many notable musicians. He really got around. What a highly educated (in music) and classy guy.

Even his last name is interesting/

He also worked with Bowie a bit in his early years. Not sure about the rest of his career.
