They didn't play Satisfaction

How many people been to a concert where they didn't play Satisfaction? Well I did as it was in 1965 before it was written. At Desert Trip last year, so many people saying they went to Stones concerts 40 years ago, didn't meet anyone who said 50 years+!

I didn't go in 1966, because, after long thought, I decided to spend the very limited amount of money, I had available at the time, on a Rolling Stones album, which I could listen to every day ... ycagwyw smileys with beer

I've been to 7 shows where Satisfaction was omitted.
1999, 2002, 2003 and the first O2 show in 2012.

Lots of people. They hardly played it at all during the 1970s.

O2 Show 1 2012. And you WERE there grinning smiley Isn't there a photo somewhere of you and Robber Bride in the audience?

I know they'd planned to play it that night but the O2 pulled the plug on them because they'd broken the curfew. And the Council gave them a hefty fine too for their trouble IIRC.

My first Stones show in 78 turned out to be one if the rare times they DID play it.

Ok, take your point. So how many, like me, went to a concert before it was written? Guessing most of you are younger than me?!

I think Keith should play the opening riff to Satisfaction three times in a row and then just move on to another song instead of using up 10 minutes of show time playing ( or not playing ) the rest of it. winking smiley

I also think Miss You should officially be Keith's break so he can re energize himself for the rest of the show, at which point i can make my toilet brake without missing any of keith. smoking smiley

They only didn't play it at O2 because they were late.

O2 first show 2012
Due to a late start for it took ages at the entrance to get all people in and in order to the curfew they cancelled "Satisfaction",it was on the printed setlist I got from the crew...

To get Keith off stage I think they'd likely need to stalk him with nets or dart him grinning smiley

Funny you'd say that -
"Miss You" has been my 'official' toilet & extra beer (yep; in that order) break on this NO FILTER tour.
Worked like a charm! smoking smiley

Sorry, I've seen a lot of concerts from every tour in Europe from Antwerp '73 till Arnhem '17 and I don't know about that item, and I refuse to go back in the concert lists for the European tours during from '73 till '17. IMO: a stupid question.
""""When did they play this or that song"""?????? I'm nearly by 70 of age.

Lady Jane was also on the printed setlist, but not played at that show for the same reason. Luckily they played it at the second show.

Amongst a few already named, I can add both Paradiso shows in 1995 from my list.

The point should be how many times in the last 40 or so years has it been given a proper place? Instead of being played in a whirling dervish extended cacophony right before the fireworks and a final, 'Goodnight, Cleveland! What? Sorry. Goodnight, Detroit!'
