Only thing I've read so far that's very eerie is that Cambridge News received an anonymous tip 25 minutes prior to the assassination that something big was coming:

Oswald did. He sat on his perch on the 6th floor and shot JFK. The only question is A) was he trying to reach a pre-arranged safehouse after fleeing the scene? did someone else know what he was doing? That's it. End of story.

Someone else knew he was doing it. Only question is who?

If Oswald supposedly did it, then why hide everything for so long?

This was my pet thing 25+ years ago, reading and owning dozens of books and watching every new documentary that popped up. I was over it by the time the Bugliosi book came out but also was absolutely convinced it really was Oswald acting alone.
At least part of it is the same problem we are seeing now where the vast majority of the citizenry isn't smart or sophisticated enough to parse the massive information overload thrust upon us on top of massive cultural changes taking place.
Still enjoy the JFK movie and watched it a year ago even though it's a total work of fiction.

Oswald may have fired from the Depository, but the fatal head shot was fired from the front, most likely by Herminio Diaz Garcia.

Or David Sanchez Morales...
As for Oswald the "inadpated" "loser" he was a (US) spook by the age of 19. Not bad huh for a "loser". As a Marine he was sent to Atsugi (Japan) to work on the super-secret U2 stealth plane.
A few years later the Agency re-invented Oswald as man delusioned with the American way of life and wanting to live the Russian dream. So he was sent to USSR to spy on the Comunnists.
As for Atsugi it was a super-secret mission only a handful of US agents could be entrusted with.
Was Oswald in Dallas on 1963-11-22. Yes he was... He was probably waiting to be sent (by plane) to his next mission : Cuba.
But the rogue agents among the CIA/FBI cabale to kill JFK had decided he'd be the biggest patsy in the history of America...
Another element of thought : google "Lee Harvey Oswald" + "John Hurt". Your intelllectual landscape will broaden.

Oswald may have fired from the Depository, but the fatal head shot was fired from the front, most likely by Herminio Diaz Garcia. See the most recent edition of "Not In Your Lifetime" by Anthony Summers for more details on this. Some CIA officials such as William Harvey and David Phillips were also certainly involved in the plot. And Jack Ruby had close ties to the Mafia bosses in Chicago and Dallas, who ordered him to eliminate Oswald. The plot grew out of the CIA-Mafia plots against Castro, but morphed into a plot to kill JFK.
