AEG to launch new Knebworth festival:

AEG Presents is planning to launch a huge new festival at Knebworth Park next summer, Music Week understands.

The multi-day event, which is yet to be confirmed, would help plug the gap in the festival calendar created by Glastonbury’s fallow year and would be the first concert to take place at the 125,000-capacity Hertfordshire venue since the 2014 Sonisphere festival.

The Rolling Stones - who previously played Knebworth in 1976 - are rumoured to be in the frame to headline. AEG offered no comment on the speculation, but has a long-standing relationship with the Stones, who performed at the promoter's Desert Trip festival in 2016 and played two nights during the inaugural edition of its British Summer Time Hyde Park series in 2013 - the band's last appearances in their homeland to date.

The company is also producing the Stones’ upcoming No Filter European tour, which begins in Germany on Saturday (September 9) at Hamburg’s Stadtpark. The tour will then go on to visit stadiums in Switzerland, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, before concluding at the U Arena in Paris on October 25.

Is it possible there's something to it, considering The Stones previously alluded to playing British dates in 2018 after announcing their European tour?

...Honestly? Did they really? I mean: don't get me wrong - I too think it's very, very plausible that will happen; I'm very confident about it happening; I'm even counting on it...
But I don't think I've heard the Stones themselves alluding to UK concerts in '18. I always took that as an assumption of the good IORR-people over here... smoking smiley

If so, it probably was dear mr. Ronnie Wood grinning smiley

They said in a press release that there weren't any available arenas in the UK for them in 2017, and that they would be back.

But it was kinda vague..

I'm quite confident they'll finally show up in the UK next year though.

OK, I've made a pledge to myself -- I'm eating nothing but bacon strips until these Knebworth rumors are proved false...

...only because an above poster has claimed "Fecesbook" as a "source" to confirm these rumors...

...OK, I'm waiting for these to be proven false or true...

...if I die of a heart attack in the meantime it's the fault of someone (some poster) above...

...OK, C'mon, I'm running out of napkins here...

OK, that's good to know, because I've been a bit worried. This bacon-only diet has been wearing a bit thin. I've got some cheese and olives going with this second plate of bacon tonight, and it will be there for my third plate. Good!

I guess I can get something else healthy to go with this bacon -- like eggs! I'll have to get to the market tomorrow. OK, so another good bootleg is confirmed. Excellent!
