As for Wandering Spirit, I had to dig deep coming up with OUT OF FOCUS..., there are like 6 or 7 mind-blowing cuts that could potentially take the place of OOF but as I've already done the work, let's just presume that OOF is the best on that album, and look elsewhere for a contender.

A great song, but avoid the music video which substitutes the hideous club remix. Not sure if it's the best. I've liked a lot of music from them during the past 31 years. As much as I love the song, it is trying hard to be "Shine a Light" right down to the guitar solo.

If your going to rip someone off, ripping off yourself is probably the closest you'll get to a victimless crime, particularly if the outcome is this good.

I will also heed your advice on the video...haven't seen it. I think the only one I ever did see from that album was Sweet Thang.

I like it but I would pick either Blue or Lucky Man.

Like most of the songs on Wandering Spirit, ‘Out of Fawkiss’ pushes all the right Stonesy buttons but I’ve been running for my life since first hearing the intro:

‘I saw a glittering moon
I saw a beautiful morning
Shining on the hill
And I grabbed the cat by the tail
The future with my fingernails
But now I live in fee eer earrr’

Ever since then I’ve been living in fear that Jagger would sneeze on me.

It’s just too nasally for me to ever consider it a great song but on the whole Wandering Spirit is leaps and bounds better than anything that came after – it’s a shame that it wasn’t a Stones album.
