If I have to pick one,it's Tattoo You but,I am a big fan of 1)Undercover 2)Voodoo Lounge including the b-sides and some outtakes 3)Bridges To Babylon 4)Dirty Work 5)Select Steel Wheels tracks & 6)about nine songs from A Bigger Bang.

"Tattoo" is one of the best Stones-albums, no doubt about it.
But you have to remember that The Rolling Stones began as an singel´s selling band.
According to Charlie, the Stones have never done
a good album!

You also have to remember that you have learnt to love those elder albums for a long time now. Give "ABB" 25 years to grow and then let´s see what we think about it!

"Tattoo" contains 11 tracks and my ratings (1-5) of the entire albus is; 43.
That gives an average of 3,90 a track.

I have said before in this forum that ABB is the best album since "Tattoo".

"ABB" contains 16 tracks. I Have now heard it for, let´s say, tventy times. Compared to the 20-35 years that i have enjoyd the golden age albums.
In this moment (let´s see if it stands in 30 years) my total ratings of "ABB"; 61. That gives an average of 3,81/track.

"Exile", is in my opinion (whithout counting poits) up to this point their best studioalbum, contains 18 tracks. My totals: 69.
That gives an average of 3,83/track.

My conclusion of this discussion is; "ABB" is one of their best albums ever.

Not bad for a couple of 60 years+ millionaires!!!

ABB, hands down.

Voodoo Lounge.

Still think ABB is rubbish. This is truly the first Stones album that made me embarassed for the band and it is the first album I threw against the wall and stomped on. Even Alvin and the Chipmunks could do better than this schmalz. Wake me up when they start writing rock songs again!

i really dont know how anyone can pick bridges over abb.bridges is good, bang is exceptional.bang has way better lyrics, much better production,(none of the studio versions, ooc, som, come close to the live recordings)alot of the production is fair at best,on bridges.dont get me wrong bridges has some great written songs.the playing on abb is superior to bridges, especially the guitar work.ie,check out saint of me,the guitar solos are strumming at best, ooc,a standout live, and on no security never really jams out.i dont think in 6 months time anyone on this board will put vl,or btb, ahead of abb.its really there best since goats head soup.

I am not sure how ABB rates, (it's too early for that I think), but I know one thing, I'm sure enjoying listening to it. At this moment Biggest Mistake is playing, hell, I even like that right now!

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

Tattoo You of course says Charles Baudelaire.

My next choice is Voodoo Lounge because it has some great ballads. I love "Out of tears" with the great guitar solos and nice piano. "Bridges to Babylon" comes next. I still have not heard ABB since I ordered the vinyl from Tower Records a few days ago and probably won't receive it for another couple of weeks.....

Tatoo You is, track-for-track, too strong to beat. ABB has a few low points, and no single track as great as SMU, but there are a lot MORE songs on ABB, and we have not had much time to let them become familiar. I think that after a few years, people will point to three post-exile albums as being the "Classics": Some Girls, Tatoo You and ABB.

I have to say that Oh No,Not You Again;Infamy;Rough Justice;and Back Of My Hand all sound better live.If they make another album,I think it is time for a new producer. It also might be time to finish some of the outtakes from the 70's that haven't leaked out (if there are some worth while) or any outtakes for that matter + about five new songs.
