"Die Konzertbesucher werden aufgefordert, ohne Handtaschen, Rucksäcke oder Getränke zu kommen"
There's a new article about the concert [www.abendblatt.de]
It says that people are asked to not bring any handbags, backpacks or something to drink. it doesn't say if it's forbidden...

Worth knowing - thanks. I expect they will be forbidden but you'll be able to check them in somewhere. Unfortunately this will be normal now in the light of recent events.

No way you can check them in at a field of 82.000 people. You can't even do that at most arenas.

So they are just encouraging people not to bring "larger" purses, backpacks or drinks - so that the security and entrance could be as smooth as possible? No mention of bags or backpacks being forbidden?

Is there any official word from the organization yet?

"Für das Rolling Stones Konzert im Stadtpark in 3 Wochen werden besonders hohe Sicherheitsvorkehrungen getroffen. Um das Gelände zu schützen, werden unter anderem Schleusen und Sperren aufgestellt, auch ein Taschenverbot wurde eingeführt. Auch die Verkehrsanbindungen werden auf das Stones-Konzert vorbereitet." I hope they don't forget to change the weather…A show in early September in Northern Europe certainly carries a higher risk of rain for sure. I've been to a rainshow before - they're usually a good laugh. If it happens, I'd definitely far rather stand than sit.
I was at the show at the Malieveld in Den Haag in September 1998 when the rain started pouring down after 2 songs and everyone got soaked to the skin. But the humour of the fans (and band!) was brilliant - everyone just got on with it. Mick wore a raincoat and big hat and the band still gave a very good performance.

Talk to me about about Halifax (AB. We got sunburned in the morning, then it poured down for around 7-8 hrs. Fun now, not then. LOL.
Going to Munich and/or Dusseldorf too?

Most likely all people will stand in front of their seats. This is a funny situation. I understand both sides but I don't like to pay high prices for seats I can't use. That's foolish in my opinion. On the other hand I guess you could call it a reserved standing area.

The Tickets say: Doors open 14:00 (2pm).
I guess the Stones itself will hit the stage in the timeframe between 8:25pm and 9:25pm ....
