It's a very even album, 12 excellent songs, 2 "duds" for me (SSMC and LWTCDI) and 1 EXCEPTIONAL song 0 the best they've done in 40 years -
It Wont Take Long is quintessential Stones. A riff all the way thru, (not just at the beginning giving way to guitar interplay which is the std nowdays), a solid and terrifying riff ALL the way thru the song, pounding drums, Charlie's good tonite, isn't he?, ominous bass, terrific guitar solos and single tracked voice (apart from chorus).
I finally figured out what drives me dippy on SSMC and LWTCDI...it's the multi-tracked Jagger vocals. They end up whining......
So...It Won't Take Long. Hit me first, and hit me longest!!!
"It Won't Take Long." Reminds me a little of two of my all-time favourites, "Soul Survivor" and "I'm Going Down" with its ominous and mean guitar riff, and at one point in the song the guitars become an almost crushing punk-like wall of sound.
After 54 votes (if I counted correctly...) it like this:
no. of votes:
Rough Justice 5 Let Me Down Slow 3 It Won.t Take Long 13 Rain Fall Down 1 Streets Of Love 1 Back Of My Hand 2 She Saw Me Coming 6 Biggest Mistake 1 This Place Is Empty (Keith) 2 1Oh No, Not You Again 6 Dangerous Beauty Laugh, I Nearly Died 17 Sweet Neo Con 1 Look What The Cat Dragged In 4 Driving Too Fast 4 Infamy (Keith)
" Let me down slow " because it is a pure, new standadrd mid-tempo RS song with nice tuning guitars at the same sound level as the voice and strong rythm section.

If I can only pick one it's "It Won't Take Long"... but never heard it Live yet.
Of the songs I've heard live, Oh No Not You Again is my fave... good enough to maybe find its way into the "permanent" stones setlist... excellent live song.
