I thought that was a cool-looking axe. Anyone know what model that was and if he ever used again after 1990?

Loved the sound from the Music Man on the Steel Wheels / Urban Jungle tours in 89-90. Great on songs like Bitch, SFTD, 2000 Light Years and more.

He was very enthusiastic about the Silhouette at the time, but seems to have gravitated back to the classic designs once the novelty wore off.

[Not sure whether his vaguely documented falling out with the Ernie Ball corporation had anything to do with it. Not sure how the dates line up there. ]

Like all Music Man guitars, they are fantasticaly well built and very nice to play

Keith used also that guitar during the Main Offender Tour

He used the white one (and a sunburst model) during the Talk Is Cheap Tour.
During the Main Offender Tour he used a black one.

One of the ugliest and worst sounding guitars he has ever played.

Why "worst-sounding"?

It's a matter of taste, of course, but me, I'm not too fond of the "tinny" sound of
these guitars (listen to gimme shelter from Atlanta 89 for example and compare it to
the Paradiso version of 95). The "wooden" sound of the LP resonates more with me.
(Gosh I do sound like a Monty Python sketch here).

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

That's just the settings. Listen to Bitch from Atlantic City 89.

his solo on SFTD Atlanta is one of my top 3 live Keith solos of all time....remember just after he starts it he points out to something in the audience that he sees and then he starts again...that pause fits in perfectly

That has to do with amps -Keith just sounded very clean in 1989 and 1990, but very heavy and overdriven with the Winos.

I find the looks of the Silhouette terrible, but the sound of especially the early ones is fantastic, and they have really one of the best necks I have ever played.

True of many Music Man guitars.

I'm a big fan of the Axis Sport .

Not keen on the standard Axis as I don't like the Floyd Rose . [Ok for Guitar gymnastics but not my cup of tea winking smiley]
