Keith's backing vocals

I love A bigger bang. The rawness, the directness, whatever other nesses one can add. But what about those Keith's backing vocals that make some of the Stones songs sound Stone like the songs on Exile. Not much of those special backing vocals on ABB. I think it would have made that album even better, less of a mick and more of a Glimmer Twins album.

I agree with you completely. It's all about texture. The Stones have always been great in enriching their guitar sound by vocal harmonies and esp. brass (the whole early '70's catalogue). I do feel there is somethuing missing in this back to basic approach and all the hard driving guitars. They should have thrown in some BU's by Keith and maybe the odd saxophone solo by Bobby somewhere. The only albums so comopletely guitar-dominated are Ya-Ya's and Some Girls, but those albums were the absolute peak of the MT and RW eras.
