RS mag hasn't been "great" since the mid-70s. And I'll wager that 50th anniv. issue will have more ads in it than actual content.

If The Rolling Stones release their new album of original songs at that time, then they'll be for sure on the 50th-Anniversary-Cover of the Rolling Stone Magazine ....

I agree. When Bo Diddley passed away, who did they put on the cover? Chris Martin of Coldplay. 'nuff said.

That's a long time to ponder...
While perhaps it would be fair for the Stones to be on the cover, it will more than likely be The Beatles.

They'll probably do a photo-shopped collage, which I hate.
Honestly, I think they should try to get Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Stones, McCartney, Starr, Townsend, Daltrey, Dylan, Page, Plant, Jones...all the remaining rock'n'roll greats from the '50s and '60s in ONE location for a REAL photo.
It might get crowded, but it's an epic anniversary and deserves an epic cover.
Annie Leibovitz would shoot it, of course.
