I would have lost cash had we shook hands
as I wagered confidently Paul was retired after Christmas.
I see he is on the road again April 2017!
He is -- the Lone Cypress Tree

Not going to happen, but if it were, I would welcome and applaud it. The time for outrage over the band "selling out" was 1981.

______________

Why 1981? Because of the Jovan perfume sponsorship? Maybe the Hampton pay-per-view?

Yep. First time they brought in a big sponsor.

That seems so trivial now. However, I do remember being highly annoyed with the Jovan logo on the tour poster and the blurb on the concert tickets.

I still have the poster and ticket stubs!
Even though 'Presented by JOVAN' is noticeable at the bottom of poster, it's kind of tame compared to some of the sponsorship stuff these days.
And the Stones were able to stick the tongue in the letter O of Jovan.thumbs up

Don't get uppity, Jovan's musk was THE scent back in the day/'81.
And skin tight Jordach jeans. Teased high hair.
But 'Jovan' musk meant you --- were out for some fun.

McCartney was at the party in St Barts but it looks like only The Killers played. GNR and the Stones played "mini-sets" according to this which is based on something said by The Telegraph, with absolutely zero information about either, so it's rubbish considering that GNR weren't there.

Really lazy reporting by Rolling Stone. They just repeated something posted by The Telegraph before NYE.

I saw a video of Jimmy Buffett joking about The Rolling Stones supposedly playing. He laughed and said something to the effect of, 'this is it, this is what you get'.

McCartney sang "Auld Lang Syne" with Jimmy Buffett at Roman Abramovich's soiree in St. Barts.
