Got the CD early (yesterday). Heard it about 8-9 time so far (home,iPod,etc). Absolutely the best Stones album since Tattoo. This one will really grow on you with each listen. Strong all the way through.

Biggest Mistake -though presumably a Jagger-song - is a very good tune.
"Infamy"´? Not nearly as good as "This Place is empty".

Do the girls still scream, when you perform on stage? KR: Not on stage, but when I perform, yeah.

These have already become real classics in my head (so all 9 or 10): roughjustice, letmedownslow, itwonttakelong, shesawmecoming, backofmyhand, dangerousbeauty,thisplaceisempty, laughinearlydied, ohnonotyouagain, infamy.


These are just 2 very good/good songs (8):lookwhatthecatdraggedin, drivingtoofast.

Just have some problems with streetsoflove(good song for the record company/bit too commercial for me), rainfalldown (a very close nephiew of 'Hideaway', from Mick's Goddess, although Mick's voice sounds terrific here), sweetneocon(Street Fighting Man, was back in '68, a far better political statement than this one/so I agree with Keith...), biggestmistake (is this song why they give credit to Dave Stewart/could this song have been on Alfie?). Knowing that The Stones have to appeal to a very large crowd and that SOl is surely meant to climb the charts, I can live with the fact that they put these songs on BB.

So if I leave these 4 last songs out, I would come to 9/10.

7.75 - increasing with every play - Biggest Mistake is my current favourite but that will probably change!

Biggest Mistake (lovely, great) is along with Look What The Cat Dragged In (fantastic!!) and Laugh I Nearly Died (superb) my favorite.

The album is still growing on me. It's a classic Stones album: Rock, punk, funk/disco, country, ballads.. every style we're used to from the Stones is on this album! What do we want more!!

I never thought of Biggest Mistake as an outtake from Mick's Goddess/Alfie records. It could be his, but I think it's an instant Stones-classic: That country-feel, love theme, the guitars (riffs, licks, etc)... Love to hear this one live!

Streets Of Love is a bit growing on me. It doesn't sound weird between the rest of the album.

Every song stands on its own.

IMO it would be 9.5/10 if they took off Streets Of Love, Biggest Mistake, Let Me Down Slow, Driving Too Fast and Infamy. Just for a reference point, I would rate Some Girls 9/10 and Beggar's, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile 10/10.

The important point is it is a great album. I never would have expected them to come up with something this good at this stage of the game; what a pleasant surprise and a great treat!

Get rid of Infamy, and probably She Saw me Coming and Look What the cat Dragged in and it'd be 9.5 but, for the piece of work as released, 8.5

Laugh....god so beautiful

Going to get it this afternoon!But I have heard Rough Justice,Infamy,Back of my hand,ONYA live and listened to the boots and things are changing.When I first heard Infamy during the Boston rehearsal I loved it.I got the Rough Justice single at the weekend and after a few plays it knocked me for six,Wow!Same with the other tracks,they sound great live so looking forward to the studio cuts.By the time these guys get to the beach party in Rio they are going to be on fire!

WHEN are musicians going back to the "old days" and just having like around 12 songs on these albums ??

Look at the Chili Peppers Californication... if they'd just left about 3 or 4 songs out it would be perfection...

It's the fillers that drop the ratings of these otherwise very good albums...

Look at Nevermind by Nirvana... it only had what, around 10 tracks ?? That's the way to do it...

SCORE: I agree w/ Harlem Shuffle but I'd give it a bit higher rating: 7 is about right. Easy 8 if they drop a couple tunes, it would be a 9 if they had one more Killer Song...

Bought the CD yesterday and could listen to it only twice .First impressions are rather positive.
I would rate it 7/10 but it might change!

9/10 - but better than B2B!
