In which songs Keith has "exchanged" his part with Mick T. or Ronnie

Question for guitar players.. A bit difficult to write it

Keith supposedly keeps his part through the years on whatever song... And vice-versa... The Stones tend to stick on their routine, their vetted musical patterns, if efficient.

However, Keith has stated a couple of time that with Ronnie, well at least when Ronnie was a new comer in the Stones, he "exchanged" spontaneously his part with his mate when playing on stage in an unprepared way. He said something like it reminded him trading licks with Brian, exchanging each other part, so the song would sound more exciting and liver

Is is true, or more something he made for the press? Can someone give an exemple of a song in which Keith switched his original part (lead, rhythmic or licks, whatever you called it) in the 1960s or 1970s, to play the "other part guy" in the 2000s?

He played Brian's part on The Last Time in 2012. In 97/98 Ronnie played it.

He played most of the solos on Some Girls in 1999. On the album Ronnie did those.

There are countless examples..

When you talk parts you are looking for lead and rhythm switches on the fly. This did happen but since both could play both parts they often traded depending on mood. If Keith felt like do more licks and solos Ronnie would drop back or even solo with Keith. It was organic. Keith really let Ronnie dominate solos in 75 and less so in 78 but by 81, possible in part to Ronnie's troubled state Keith play way more solos.

Would love to see specific examples I think of Miss You from 78 to 81.

And you guys can hear that even on muffled bootlegs? I envy you.
So how do you think it happens, I mean the choice... At the last second, just by eye contact?

Yes, Keith started MY in 78 and 81/82. Ronnie did it on the album.

Keith played the intro rhythm on She's So Cold in 81/82. Ronnie played that part in 05-07.

On the 1981 tour Ronnie got the guitar solo on Neighbours most of the time. When they revived it on the Licks tour, Keith got the solo.

"Gonna find my way to heaven ..."

And after reading Life, I'm sure Keith is quite content with that smiling smiley

I guess Gimme Shelter is one of the most obvious examples - Richards played lead on the studio version and on the 1969 live versions, then let both Taylor and Wood do that part in 1972-1973 and 1975 respectively.

Another one that sticks in my mind is the first time Bye Bye Johnny was played on the 1972 tour (in Vancouver), when Keith let MT do both the solos.

A newer example: On the studio version of Ride 'Em On Down Keith plays the lead-intro.

On the live versions so far, Ronnie did that.
