I'm losing my mind in my old age. What year did Stone Temple Pilots open for the Stones on every (or nearly all) North American tour dates? THANKS

Voodoo Lounge tour, whenever that was. I remember being sad for showing up late to the concert in Toronto and missing their set.

I'm thinking it was 1994, in which case this anecdote took place in Toronto and not Pittsburgh:

I had seen the Stones with STP earlier in the year/tour. During the Toronto opener, I ducked out to get a beer.

There was a drunk in the line bitching about STP. I wasn't that impressed myself, which is why I was there.

The drunk said to me, "I bet you think they suck, too." (Meaning STP.)

I said, "Yeah, man - I heard all my life that the Stones were the shit, but I couldn't stand ten minutes of 'em in there!"

You really should have seen the look on his face....

Stone Temple Pilots opened at some shows in 1994 (Voodoo Lounge).
The Foo Fighters opened at Giants Stadium in 1997 (Bridges To Babylon).

I stayed Four Seasons Tronto for a week in the summer of 1994.
I sometime shared an elevator with members or family of the Stones and STP.
I was so surprised that many STP fans were seen in the city of Toronto at that time.

Blind mellon opened the 94 pittsburgh show.

Buddy Guy and Red Hot Chili Peppers opened at the Rose Bowl shows.

I can tell you for certain that I saw STP open for the Stones on August 19th, 1994 in Toronto... Voodoo Lounge. It was my 17th birthday and my very first Stones show.

"You'll be studying history and you'll be down the gym. And I'll be down the pub, probably playing pool and drinking."

94 went to Toronto and drank canadian beer in the parking lot and never went in

Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Adams opened the two VOODOO shows I saw.
