It's All Over Now
Bye Bye Johnny from Welcome to NY 1972 (just after Keith is introduced to the crowd -- wow what an intro!)

This song just has THUNDEROUS BASS lines too !!

Right after the opening verse "I'm gonna tell ya how it's gonna be..."" \
... the bass just shakes the cracks in the stadium !

Aside from the warhorses like Satisfaction, Sugar, JJ Flash, HT Women, etc., I really like the intro to It's All Over Now (mentioned a couple times already). This song really unleashed the Stones twin guitars and is a perfect example of Keith's ancient art of weaving! He and Brian blend together perfect.
Great version is on the TAMI show as well as the bootleg concert from the Paris Olympia 65.

Start me up : even if I don't like very much that song ,the riff is just fantastic.
Honky Tonk Women:my first Stones memory as a kid.My elder brother brought back the single from London (YCAGWYW as a B side) just upon the release.
Brown Sugar :you must be a genious under the influence of pretty good stuff to write such an intro.
CYHMK: prelude to the hard rock era.
Satisfaction : as famous as Beethoven 5th symphony opening notes.

For my money and ears: Tumbling Dice and Happy. Two seconds in and everybody knows what time it is. Brilliant.

Then to the outside the Stones questions: Get Back, the opening riff, and a dozen John Fogerty Numbers. Bad Moon Rising, anyone? And the beat goes on.

"SOUL SURVIVOR" !

I love that intro riff.

The ending moments of that song spawned the intro to "It Must Be Hell".

Just listen and you'll see what I mean.

You know what's white hot?

"Summer Romance" on "Emotional Rescue." I'm assuming that Keith gets in the first licks, and then Woody jumps on it...just a ripper, that one.

Someone pointed out "Lowdown" and that's an excellent call as well.

"Honky Tonk Women"--there isn't anyone else who could make something played at that tempo shake a whole stadium. Just for the hell of it, I'll cite the "Love You Live" version. Monumental.
