Wild Horses with pedal steel

Greetings all. I am here in France writing on SwayStones' computer. We were listening to the bootleg Through The Vaults Darkly. There is a version of Wild Horses I cannot believe I never heard, with pedal steel guitar and organ. The main track appears to be the same as the album version. Who played the pedal steel? Was it recorded at the original session or added later? Any info about this track would be appreciated. Thanks.

My guess would be that it's Al Perkins. Ron Wood was not around yet.

Sneaky Pete, Tele. Mick sent the tapes to the US for him to overdub.

Thanks Greek! I've been taking a little break, but as DP mentioned, I'll be on guitar in London on Saturday with the IORR band.

Thanks. I had missed the earlier discussion. There is also mystery organ on this version, which is not on the released track.

I don't think the Stones intended to give away their own backing tracks to the Burritos smiling smiley

No, Mick considered using Sneaky Pete for the Stones's version.

There is an even older thread here, where this was documented.
