The Rolling Stones Exhibit is at the place Beck is playing....kinda cool

Re: OT: Jeff Beck
Date: August 15, 2018 00:31

And wowsa.... I would guess 70% of the tickets are still left and Ticketmaster

playing the game ....tickets that looked to be sold yesterday are now back for sale.

Is there a chance they cancel?

Holy Moly..I just looked again...I'll bet 70% of the tickets are still left and possibly more because of the game ticketmaster plays with the now you see them...now you don't...now you do.

What trick might they have to unload thousands of tickets this late in the game.

I ask again....do they dare cancel this show?

I just checked several other citys where they are about to play....and man oh man....the tickets sales suck.

I'll Jeff Beck would have sold better if he were solo.

Went to the Beck tour in St. Louis. Same story, sold maybe 7,000 tickets in a place that holds 20,000.

Would've much preferred seeing him in a place that holds 2,500.

Just came back from Nashville, went to see the Stones exhibit, really cool. I did go to the one they had in the R&R Hall of Fame 6 years ago, this was better though that was cool too.

I guess they thought the 3 of them would draw a bigger crowd. I plan on seeing the Stones exhibit tomorrow afternoon.

Funny stuff because after Nashville on Friday We are headed to St Louis to see Skynyrd and Hank Jr. on Saturday.!

Ha ha, I'm going to that too! Sitting in the lawn...trying to decide whether to wear my old Hank shirt or my new Swampers shirt I bought at Muscle Shoals last summer.

Go with the Hank Shirt!

I just saw him a few weeks ago in Tulsa. He is always fun. Skynyrd I have mixed emotions about because not really Skynyrd. But I love the music.

So lots of cold beers for me at this one!

I know I am beating a dead horse. But the Venue in Nashville Jeff Beck is at only has a capacity of 9700. So wowsa even more so poor ticket sales ...I am guessing the have sold less than 2500 tickets ...I acutally looked at the map and did a little math.

Disappoints me only because I think the bigger and louder the crowd the better the show.

Great Seats for $36 each and no takers.

I suspect that they tarp all the upper level seats and give those people an upgrade

Totally unrealistic, but they could change venues into a small club or theater w/capacity at 2500 max.
In fact, they should have booked this tour in smaller venues to begin with.

I saw Steely Dan at the L.A. Forum about five or six years ago, and sales were so poor the entire upper levels were completely tarped off.
Didn;t have an effect on the quality of the show as it was really great, but the next time they came around they wisely booked in much smaller venues.

Chances are good your show will go on and really doubt they would ever cancel (?), but there will be loads of empty sections.

I honestly think this was a weird lineup. Lots of Jeff fans (myself included) don't want to sit through Rogers and Wilson. He played Jones Beach, which is a real hassle, on a hot, humid, rainy night. Day of the show there were entire sections unsold. He was great with Buddy Guy and sold very well in smaller, more convenient venues. He's sold out Roseland, Irving Plaza, the Beacon, etc. He did sell out the Capital Theater in Port Chester this week, sans the supporting acts.

And, yeah, day of the Jones Beach show primo seats popped up at lower prices.

Sorry, Jeff. Check with me next tour. Love you, man.

Agree Bleedingman - it's an off-putting lineup. Add to the fact the only show near me was down in Orange County (apprx. 100 miles), the thought of driving through the claustrophobic L.A. traffic to even get there made it a no-go for me. I last saw him on a co-headliner show with ZZ Top at the Greek Theater in L.A., and it was a nice match-up and seemed to have been sold out. But the best places I've seen him are when he's headlining on his own - from small old theaters, the House of Blues, Indian casinos, etc., etc. Hoping he returns to my area again without all the unnecessary baggage - I guarantee I'll be there.

Yeah I've seen Hank many times, and Skynyrd once but like you said it's almost a tribute band at this point.

Yeah, the only reason I went was my 17 year old son has never seen Beck and he doesn't come around much, and I felt he should see the best guitar player ever. Plus I got the tickets for $20. Wasn't a big fan of Paul Rodgers but he was really good. Ann Wilson... Well seen Heart a few times back in the 80's so was disappointing to me.

Nice kovach - must have been a blast for your son!
And I wasn't really knocking Paul Rogers or Ann Wilson as they're both obviously great singers - in fact I'm going to see "Bad Company" headline next month at the L.A. County Fair with only Paul Rogers and Simon Kirke as original members - cheap tickets that include entry to the fair! Never have seen Heart or either of the Wilson sisters, but maybe some day in a different setting I will...maybe at a County Fair somewhere haha.
But as a Jeff Beck fan first and foremost, having Paul and Ann on the same bill seems it might have diluted the experience for me, not to mention the effort it would have taken to get there. And the fact that tickets are selling so poorly, evidently I'm not alone in thinking this.

I don't understand what Ann Wilson is even doing on this tour! She is singing 90% cover songs by other bands and only a couple of Heart songs!Isn't John Bonham's sister the opener for these shows?

Yes John Bonhams's sister opens, only plays maybe 4 songs, was pretty good! Only had a guitar player with her. Apparently Paul Roger's band for the tour is her band though!

Ann Wilson's promoting a new album of covers. Was kinda disappointing not to mix more Heart material in.

Re: OT: Jeff Beck

Nashville was a small crowd but a good crowd. And I don't think it changed the bands attitude.

It was a strange line up but worked for me.

And I know everyone has their own opinion.

To me Beck is best.

There is no live album or video that can make you feel what you feel when you see him live.

It's been a while since I had seen him and I had forgotten how he controls that guitar.

The sounds he gets out of it are like no other.

I enjoyed the entire show.

Review of the PNC Music Pavilion show:

Rodgers, Beck and Wilson prove they aren't too old to rock

"Meanwhile, it was Beck who lit up the night from start to finish. The legendary guitarist simply shredded every note and showed why he's at or near the top of so many best guitarist lists".

That about sums it up.

I’ve seen JB alot of times but I think the best one was in around 06 at the house of blues in Vegas.1200 people, we were down front and you could hear the guitar from his amp.
He had this girl Beth Hart singing and she was really good, sort of a Janis type raspy voice with a lot of power.they did some of the old Jeff Beck group 1 songs and she nailed the Rod parts.superstious was insane, you know that guitar that begins it..from a few feet away, man.to be honest I don’t think I’ve heard a guitar sound that good in years.maybe since Page in 88.

Was surprised he used a Hendrix 'flipped' Strat for the whole show (and apparently the whole tour), especially since he has his own much more expensive model!

Skynyrd/Hank Jr. were good as well, Hank did a longer show than his other opening slots and threw in several songs he hasn't played elsewhere.

he should the band back together.
all that would really be necessary is an intermediary between Rodney and Jeffrey.
Maybe Ron could do that.
Is Mickey Waller still with us?
well, Mr. H is w the angels....but theres always Chuck!!

I had seen Hank a few weeks earlier in Tulsa OK at the Hard Rock Casino. He did mix it up a bit and played a few different songs.

I like Hank but sometimes I wish he would spend less time telling the crowd how great he is and spend more time showing them.

I did not realize Steel Woods and 38 Special were even going to be there until our drive from Nashville to St Louis. I actually liked Steel Woods.

It surprised me how crowded it was.

For me the trip was about Jeff Beck and for my buddy it was all about Skynyrd.

Skynyrd sounded great played most the songs I wanted to hear.

But to me they are not Lynyrd Skynyrd. Not even close. They are just a tribute band. I just don't get it. I can't beleive they pack the people in like that.

It was a great two days of music. 7 Bands plus Bonhams sister.
