Another thing i love about your photos Irix is that it shows the back of Keith's rig and you also get a partial shot of Pierre's work station ,which is pretty cool.

I remember reading years back, perhaps that drummer magazine from 1989 or 1990, that Charlie hadn't tuned any drum heads since he put them on because he never breaks a head.

Now that may have been true for a while but I highly doubt there's any truth to it now.

However, the drum key, it's just a thang. He hasn't always done it though, it's more "recent". Since the 1989 tour.

Great pictures. Even a non musician like me appreciates the detail.

Excuse the silly question but is there some story about why he has that carpet? At first I though it was a genuine Persian rug but close up it looks like an - ahem - inexpensive version, like the one I used to have in my living room.

I always wondered about the carpet too since I had one with a similar pattern.

This is such a cool picture. These drums must be as sad as the rest of us today...

Yep, I don't think anyone can. So many memories, so many pictures, he'll always be with us even if it's the end of an era, we're going to have to "grow up" now :-(

Does anyone know who makes this bag? My son started playing the drums and I want to buy him a bag. Thanks.

Do you mean a bag like in this picture - [iorr.org] ?

Leather Drumstick Bag - [www.Amazon.co.uk] . There're more vendors, e.g. [www.Etsy.com] - just do a Google image-search after (leather) drum stick bag .

If you go back one page on the thread there is a shot of the bag hanging off Charlie's kit.

So it is clearly not a weakens bag. Any idea who makes it?

From Google image search.

Maybe he just grabbed a bag from his horse stable.
