Great Album ! - maybe not "Compilation" - but more Historic Evidence . .
"Don´t Lie to Me" - puzzles me, - is it Mono, - Electronically Reprocessed Stereo, - True Stereo, - or what ?
To my ears, - it sounds like either "Very Narrow Stereo" - or ERPS . . .
NOT Mono . . .
I have the boot "2120 South Michigan Avenue" - where the text tells :
"In glorious Mono" - and it is identical to the "Metamorphosis" - version . .
Please give me your opinion . . !

It's in extremely narrowed stereo. If you do an OOPS (read about that on the net), it will give you a slight and hollow stereo picture with a lot of artifacts, which clearly shows it's a stereo mix.
However, the Necrophilia bootleg, which are sourced from a first-class acetate, has Don't Lie To Me in pure stereo, just like the original Chess recordings.
Beware that both versions contains an after-the-fact piano overdub, made by a session-pianist in 1972, urged by Andrew Oldham, who produced both Necrophilia and Metamorphosis.

Thanks a lot !
Very interesting ! - but raises the question, - why was´t it released in True Stereo here . . . ?
"OOPS" . . . Have to check that out . . . Can you provide me with any details ?

Mick Taylor plays beautifully on I Don't Know Why (the solo is looped, though) and Jiving Sister Fanny.

I don't quite know why it wasn't released in true stereo once it got released.
However, back in 1975, they didn't take those things very importantly, if it was stereo or mono or a combination of both. A guess could be that the narrowed Metamorphosis mix was a decision made during the mastering-stage, to make it sound more in common with the rest of the early tracks which were mixed/mastered the same way.

I'd be up for a deluxe Metamorphosis, say 4 or 5 cds of ABKCO era stuff. Blood Red Wine deserves an official release, there must be more in the ABKCO vaults.
Bill's original Black Box also looked interesting
Anyone know anything about Godzi ?
Plus Jiving Sister Fanny is great. Side 2 is very enjoyable and I don't mind most of side 1. Hey I'd even be up for the complete Shang A Doo Lang and Give Me Your Hand and Hold It Tight demos as long as they included the demo Brian wrote and sings on.

Wow - and it bombed. Unbelievable. I guess Decca and the Stones didn't bother promoting it.
