If you judge by their setlists they kind of stopped rolling back in 1972 ...

That doesn't make any sense.

I would have said by this point we'd be done. They've proven me wrong.
However, I gotta feel Charlie won't be able to do it around 76, 77 maybe. DEFINITELY not by 80. So at least, I feel we have 5 more years left, if that. I could see this next NA tour being the last for them, then maybe one more European run, but then I say that every time they tour. But yeah, 5 years or less at this point. Same for McCartney, same for The Who, etc.

The Stones will keep on rolling as long as Charlie is able to bang the drums for two hours. I dont know how long he will be able to do that, there are jazz drummers in their 80s around but playing jazz or rock is two different things. Maybe they have to quit next year, maybe they go on even in their 80s. I never imagined the Stones on stage in their 60s and 70s and here they are... you never know with the Stones, these guys are the toughest bastards in the game.
We all know that Mick is fanatical about his fitness and health. I think the other three are the X factors. With Charlie's cancer scare and Keith and Ronnie refusing to stop smoking, the other shoe could drop at any time. I hate saying that, but it's simply a fact at their ages.Quote

I have a friend on Micks age who does martial arts faster and to a certain extend harder than ever before, but that is following some pretty specific health regimens.
