i dont care about donald trump at all-he has his ideas,i have mine.but for some reason this guy makes people insane.
michael coles story is so full of nonsense,so made up that it boggles the mind.
if you read the full transcript,it's laughable.
the list of bullshit is just too long to list but it seems people are so hell bent on getting on the publicity bandwagon they will say anything.
first cole says he shopped the pay-per-view to las vegas but had no takers because they "didnt like rock and roll there yet" [i guess elvis, the beatles, the doors, van halen, guns and roses,aerosmith,U2 and other acts that played there before the stones weren't rock and roll.]
then cole insists "the stones wanted nothing to do with trump"-strange because trump at the time was just a casino owner in atlantic city who owned real estate in new york.in 1989 there was no reason to have an opinion of him at all, good or bad.it would be like kirk kerkorian or Steve Wynn giving a press conference before a show or a fight in vegas -who cares.a casino owner at a mic promoting a show in his building isn't unusual let alone worth slamming knives on tables and running around carrying on.
another of the 1000 holes in the story-cole starts out by saying "trump could only promote the show in AC, nowhere else" yet the entire episode revolves around a press conference IN AC! how dare he get in front of a mic and speak of the show, the audicity...but you just said that was the deal you made with him at the beginning of the story.
there was also comedy-apparently trump had "guys in trench coats and leather gloves, one with brass knuckles". here cole is asking us to believe the casino owner wanted to promote the rolling stones show so bad he was gonna use a goon squad to make sure it happened, even though he had nothing at stake except for a site fee which was already paid up front.how did that go down exactly?-"you let me use my time to promote your show for no reason whatsoever damnit or i'm gonna have my guys take care of you"
not-real-life.
there's a stange dynamic with people who leave the rolling stones either as employees or hangers-on.they all have this bizarre way of inflating the situations they were in to an almost cartoonish level that only a child or a person with a limited I.Q would believe.
it alawys either involves them setting someone straight, making decisions on behalf of the band or in some way elevating their stature within the bands lives and/or career.[and you can read about it in their book,of course available now on amazon for 19.99]
the one that most recently comes to mind was the producer who had to tell mick taylor he couldnt use his own drums, bass and guitar on a stones track because the stones have a perfectly good drummer and bass player[because of course mick taylor didnt know this and had to be told by mister important] and of course the producer then become upset and told jagger "either he's out or i am" [this must have really caused jagger some concern, hmmm do i lose a member of the band or a producer..it must've kept the commander up for many a sleepless night trying to decide]
again,not-real-life
