Mick Jagger on the set of the Going to a Go-Go video.

caption translated: The very private band and accompanying musicians are waiting for their performance on the america tour. In london's studio, keith richard's son Marlon spends his time playing billiards, while Mick Jagger's long-legged friend Jerry Hall chats with a friend.

The bottom two photos were taken in 1982.

Rockman, be happy that you can´t read it. It´s a lousy article full
of mistakes and malice.

I can't read it either. I love the rare pics. I'll take it down and just put up the photos. It looks like Jerry Hall is talking with Marie Helvin.

Can you tell us what the printing says under the photo of Mick? Thanks

Just leave it there. It´s a piece of history. Btw, I´ve heard that Mick
didn´t like the Helnwein portrait on the cover of STERN.

promoclip for the album is being produced. To give
the star a real life attitude sweat is to be sprayed on his shirt"

According to Gottfried Helnwein´s homepage:
"Foto session with the Rolling Stones in London
Helnwein meets Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Charly Watts
and Bill Wyman in the Sheperton Studios in London where they reharse for
their world-tour"

So these photos were taken somewhere between May 3rd and 24th:

I´ve read somewhere that MJ wasn´t please with this outcome:

Thanks for the post and detective work! Mick is wearing the same clothes from the Going to a Go-Go video shoot.
Apparently the same day. I wonder if the cinema parts of the Going to a Go-Go video was shot at Sheperton Studios?

Mick in trousers, not football pants.
How many shows did he wear trousers? Were they mostly indoor shows?

SAN FRANCISCO

There were only a few shows when Mick didn't wear the American Football Uniform pants.

Mick Jagger and Dianne Feinstein on a beautiful San Francisco antique
Cable Car promoting saving the aging transportation system.

Photo of Peter Hartlaub

Dianne Feinstein’s early 1980s fight to save the cable cars had no shortage of star wattage: from
Tony Bennett to members of Jefferson Starship to Pac-Man. But no one gave a bigger impression — while
expending very little effort — than Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger. In town on Oct. 20, 1981, for a pair
of sold-out concerts at Candlestick Park, he dropped by San Francisco’s City Hall and made his pitch for
the historic but aging Muni transit system.

“Mick Jagger paid a brief call on Mayor Dianne Feinstein yesterday at San Francisco City Hall, posing
with her on a motorized cable car in a publicity stunt for the ‘Save the Cable Cars’ fund,” The Chronicle
reported the next day. Jagger “told reporters he agreed to the photo session ‘when I heard the cable cars
needed a relatively small amount of money from the private sector or they would disappear.’”

The photo is one of the most memorable in The Chronicle’s archive: a swank-looking Jagger in a suit, next
to Feinstein looking a bit like a rock star herself.

I love the video of this press event. It gets more interesting every time I watch it!

There have been times I thought I had an idea for a long running thread, but invariably it would fizzle out for one reason or another.
It is really incredible how exilestones, and mightystork have kept some of these threads going; always interesting, great to look at.
I simply cant believe there was a RS spread on the '81 tour that had been tucked away for so long.

I wonder what became of the French Stones fan, who used to put these B&w mags/or small books together, and give them away fro free. I think it was jeanmarie, a class act. A separate book on all the great tours.
