We might get Can't Be Seen and Pressure Drop as well, based on the sound check report.

I'm hoping that this forgettable number lives up to its title with regards to its visibility on upcoming setlists.

They only play their best-known songs to an audience that is mostly only familiar with GRRR! and Forty Licks. Even She´s A Rainbow isn´t really surprising, if memory serves, it can be found on some Stones-compilation.

The Stones know there are only about 20% die-hard-fans in the audience, 80% are one-timers or casual GH-listeners. So there´s hardly a chance for gems from Undercover, Dirty Work etc. They even drop great songs like Doom And Gloom because it´s lesser known to general audiences. It´s a pity, but it can´t be changed. It will go on forever and ever and ever and ever.

If they come back to Europe or the States I wonder who is going to pay for the same show again and again.

There are numbers they could pull out of their hat that would satisfy the deep fan, and be interesting for the tourist audience too. Sweet Black Angel can't be that hard to play, but the rhythm created on stage could be really interesting. Let's see if Ronnie Wood can get that slide shimmer ala Brian Jones on Mona. Back Street Girl would be cool. I think Ronnie could figure out the accordion part. Can you imagine a stadium rocking out to Parachute Woman? Have they ever attempted Lady Jane with Ronnie on Dulcimer? There are all kinds of numbers they could do that wouldn't be too complex, or too obscure.

They have played both Lady Jane and Parachute Woman. Unfortunately only once!

You surely mean tremolo on Mona? They played Mona (very poorly) in 1981.

I wonder if they have recordings from the '66 tour? Forest Hills, those kind of places. Probably not. Of course I mean tremolo, but it creates a shimmery effect. I'm a writer for gods sake, I have to make it my own somehow. When did they play Parachute Woman?

There are some 'rare' tracks which does not work at all. Silver Train and Respectable were painful to hear the last few years. A decent cover band could probably do better version of those songs than the Stones do in present shape.

Other rarities works better, She's So Cold, No Expectations and a few more are still great in concert.

it seems to be wrongly accepted that the vast majority of the stones catalogue falls into 2 catagories only, warhorses and rarities. as they only have about 15 max warhorses then they must have anything between 300 and 450 rarities.

what about all those songs which although not warhorses, could easily be if they had been played more regularly, all those songs which are generally better than the worst of the warhorses and all those songs where some were even singles or b-sides.

many more songs could be rotated either in the warhorse section or the one between warhorse and rarities. its as if the stones only really believe that the fans know only about 15 songs.

what about

the last time
have you seen your mother baby
not fade away
its all over now
crazy mama
if you cant rock me
get off my cloud
heartbreaker
star star
fingerprint file
loving cup
torn and frayed
rocks off
bitch
stray cat blues
ruby tuesday
around and around
come on
wanna be your man

thats to name just a few. that listy could be expanded easily.

most of them could be introduced and some of the other warhorses removed occasionally.

some songs are just warhorses cos the band chose to play them to death, its only rock and roll and example, is that song any better than whats on offer on exile, i doubt it.

There are no gems on DIRTY WORK and Doom And Gloom is not great.

Boston Orpheum - what a setlist, including:

'Brand New Car'
'Parachute Woman'
'Dance (Part 1)'

Back to back.

Imagine that.

I can't believe Star Star isn't in the rotation more often. Chuck berry licks for Keith and a chorus begging for audience participation for mick. They should play it every nite When was it last played ? Not in the last 10 years I reckon

Good point about there not being a chance for gems from Undercover and Dirty Work, but wrong on the reason why... there are no gems on those albums in the first place.

It will be interesting to see to what extent the Stones alter their setlist during the course of their three date residency at the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata.

How was 'Anybody Seen My Baby' received? It sounds better to me after a few listens, and there is something about seeing Mick Jagger rapping onstage in 2016 that causes me to smile.

I get the same feeling, Maindefender. The crowd seems happy whatever they play. The only ones who cares about setlists are we. And who cares about us?
