One Hit To The Body would be the greatest opener ever.

It would be interesting to have a new opener. Street Fighting Man is a realistic alternative to SMU and JJ Flash

SFM was the opener on quite a few arena shows in 2002. Great choice, imo. One of those songs that can't go wrong for the Stones.

I've said it for decades: We Love You should be the opener. They owe us that much smiling smiley

YEAHHHHH!

Brother in mind - saying this since ages.
The hammering piano-opening, the waves of sound, Mick, with the chorus of Keith, Ronny plus the rest of everyone on stage

The only good thing about opening with SMU is that they get it out of the way (because you know they are going to play it regardless)grinning smiley

I am afraid the "hammering piano-opening" would turn into a plink-plink-plink-piano-opening and the chorus of Keith, Ronnie and the rest would be a howling mess.

Have they ever done this song live? I cant remember but I dont think so.

They will do Start Me Up as opener anyway to set SA-crowds on fire right from the beginning.

Should Mick and the boys play "we love you"' live
Posted by: Turner68 ()
Date: February 3, 2016 12:52

... The week it is featured as the "talk track" on iorr?

By my calculations it will be during the Ole! Tour.
It is kind of like a once in a millennium eclipse event
It would be a great shout out from the band to the folks at iorr (Rene in particular) and I think the song would go over well in Latin America.

Only concern: the keyboard part is important, not clear the band's current keyboardist is up to it.

Chuck did a nice She's A Rainbow (and is about to do it again on this tour), so I think that will work just fine smiling smiley

Why not? But not as an opener.
Though of course this will not happen.
But man maybe we'll get "Pressure Drop"!

Lol yeah the timing is tricky on that part. My 8 year old neice struggles with it ;-)

It was funny that Nicky played it again in Rod Stewart's take on Street Fighting Man, on his debut album. I suspect he came up with that piano part smiling smiley

Has it ever happened that the setlist has been leaked out before the concert?

I don't know, but several times they rehearsed the song vote winner song in the stadum soundcheck before the concert.

Do you see SFM as a mainstream-enough track to use as an opener ?

I like the idea, but I don't know if they'll dare doing it in stadiums and in rarely/never before visited countries.
OK, they used Not Fade Away in 1994/95 but the scenography was adapted

Yes I know. But I mean the whole setlist

It's going to be the same basic show as last summer. Open with SMU or JJF. End with YCAGWYW and Satisfaction. 15-16 other warhorses and a quasi-ringer or two in between.

I know these things. I just do.
