Olé Tour setlist speculations...
Posted by: Stoneage ()

What do you think? Will they throw in any new songs (as opposed to the 2014-15 tours) in this upcoming tour? And if so: Which songs would that be?
Personally I think they will play one or two "new" (or rare rather) songs during these 15 Latin America concerts. But I haven't a clue which ones...

Wouldn't be surprised to see them incorporate Moonlight Mile into the set, seeing how great it was and how often it was played during the Zip Code tour

I'll always associate Moonlight Mile with the summer of 2015 and the trip to San Diego. Such an incredible song

I expect a strong set dominated by deep cuts and perhaps they will play sides3 and 4 of exile in its enitrety

I hope they keep OOC and SSC in the setlist.

And please do Lady Jane or Back Street Girl in the ballad slot.

It'll be the same basic show as Zip Code which was the same basic show going back to 50 and Counting. They're not going to reinvent themselves for fifteen dates playing markets they haven't played in eons primarily for people who've never seen them.

cant see them change too much.

will be the usual warhorse with the odd 1 or 2 song rotation per gig, with maybe 1 new or rarely played song from years ago.

Maybe a tribute to Bowie? Jean Genie perhaps?

I think they'll play their greatest famous hits. Some places are their first time ever and they haven't played in Brazil for the last 10 years. And I truly hope so. It's my first (and perhaps last) chance to see them live in my life, so I expect their greatest hits on the setlist. :v

Olé Tour setlist opener...

Two days to go. Jumping Jack Flash, Start Me Up or something else. Odds are probably negligible for the latter. And, perhaps, even for the other two. So my wild guess would be - Start Me Up! What's yours?

they should get a new opener, those 2 are boring.

One obvious one which they've never opened with............Sympathy.......probably way too late to change habits now though................

I've said it for decades: We Love You should be the opener. They owe us that much smiling smiley

From my experience:

START ME UP as an opener = Jagger's choice, but then Keith is pissed off & fux it up big time.

JUMPIN' JACK FLASH as an opener = Jagger's a bit annoyed that he didn't get it his way; but most of the times a truely great, GREAT gig follows.

Good alternative would be STREET FIGHTING MAN.
About time they start playing thàt one again...

Talking about "usual" choices, both JJF and SMU are working perfectly as openers...

Talking about something new, my vote goes to "One Hit To The Body"...

(That's a desire, not a prediction, of course...)

Jumpin' Jack Flash is never boring.
No opener is ever boring, if you ask me. It's more like an orgasm after building up the
exitement of waiting for hours in the venue for the band to take the stage.
Not even Gomper would be a boring opener.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

Yes, great intro on that......so great intro for a show....

I think 'Out of control' would be pretty decent too...........

Not a wild guess, I bet it will be JJF. But if you ask what I wish it would be: Under my thumb! Best opener they have had...... thumbs up

Great choice. I've with that. Or Have You Seen Your Mother baby, Standing In The Shadows. SMU or JJF would should the greatest lack of imagination.

I though Not Fade Away worked really well on VL tour as a les than obvious opener.

They did try that 3 times in 2006, Boston, Halifax & Regina (2nd show)..........I guess Mick didn't rate it after a few goes............[www.iorr.org]

It would be interesting to have a new opener. Street Fighting Man is a realistic alternative to SMU and JJ Flash
