Sad news...first Bowie, then Frey, and Griffin. December and January are tough months for the sick and elderly. Pneumonia is especially deadly in those with compromised immune systems. Take care everyone and get your flu shot.

Oh, it seemed like a holy place,
protected by amazing grace
And we would sing right out loud, the
things we could not say
We thought we could change this world
with words like "love" and "freedom"
We were part of the lonely crowd
Inside the Sad Cafe

Oh, expecting to fly,
we would meet on that beautiful shore in the sweet by and by...

(Frey, Henley, Souther, Walsh)

Glenn Frey, Already gone at age 67. Years of living life in the fast lane and too many tequila sunrises at the Hotel California took their toll in the long run. May he rest with a peaceful easy feeling. Take it easy, Glenn. There's a heartache tonight.

Wow, the Eagle has flown. RIP Glenn. Sympathies and condolences to Cindy and the rest of his family. Glenn lived large that's for sure. I'm sure he would want us all to order the best wine on the list in his honor, I plan to.

OMFG. Dreadful news. THIS one affects me more than Bowie or Lemmy, as awful as THEY were. RIP Glenn and so many thanks for so much wonderful music thru the decades. Condolences to his family and friends. Geez.

"A perfect day, the sun is sinkin' low
As evening falls, the gentle breezes blow
The time we shared went by so fast
Just like a dream, we knew it couldn't last
But I'd do it all again
If I could, somehow
But I must be leavin' soon
It's your world now

It's your world now
My race is run
I'm moving on
Like the setting sun
No sad goodbyes
No tears allowed
You'll be alright
It's your world now

Even when we are apart
You'll always be in my heart
When dark clouds appear in the sky
Remember true love never dies

But first a kiss, one glass of wine
Just one more dance while there's still time
My one last wish: someday, you'll see
How hard I tried and how much you meant to me

It's your world now
Use well your time
Be part of something good
Leave something good behind
The curtain falls
I take my bow
That's how it's meant to be
It's your world now
It's your world now
It's your world now"

I know it wasn't the whole picture but RA is insiduous. I'm living with an agressive version of it. It's not cancer but close enough. The "cure" is no picnic either. I'm still upright but its not easy.

RIP Glenn. Shocked by the news, didn't know about his bad condition. Saw them in '79, just before the big freeze and glad I caught them again in 12/2013. Just saw Henley at the Ryman this past October, but he was doing all solo stuff no Eagle hits, guess now if he carries on it he will do some....

My first Stones show was 31 July, 1975 in Greensboro, NC. The Eagles played the very next night on 1 August. Glenn Frey was in the audience at the Stones show. I used to have a newspaper article with a short interview with him at the show. He had taken his younger brother to see the Stones for the first time as well.

Started taking guitar lessons in the summer of 79. I had the Eagles songbook. These were first and second songs I learned to strum on guitar ..first time I felt like a legit guitar player. Peace, and thanks Glenn.

Another great Glenn song. The guitar work on these Eagles songs are criminally underrated.
