Attention all you Bruce nuts out there! I went to the Bruce website at[brucespringsteen.net] and they are releasing what I consider to be one of Bruce's later day holy grail of shows: The 1990 solo acoustic Christic Institute performances. It was rumored at the time that was going to be officially released but never was. Highly recommended if you are a Bruce fan.

Never liked his acoustic stuff that much, but knowing me, I probably will end up buying it. grinning smiley

Tremendous show at Wembley last night. Perhaps the least songs played from The River on the entire tour. Great versions of Tougher Than The Rest, My City Of Ruins, Candy's Room and a rare outing for I'll Work For Your Love.

Does Bruce do the crowd surfing bit during the stadium shows? I imagine security has to go change their underwear afterwards if he does!smoking smiley

Hi Nate.

Where abouts on the Pitch were you ? We where right in the middle and there was a terrible echo. It often wasn't clear what song had started. And if he spoke it was really hard to make it out. I went for one toilet break and walked to the back of the floor...it didn't seem to improve.Someone who was 10 rows from the pit described it as "appalling sound" Spoke to friends that had been in the 1st tier and it was loud and clear there.

I still enjoyed the gig and the set list was beyond interesting, but the sound was a let down.

There's probably a lot of difference between stadiums and open fields when it comes to
sound quality. I've never been too fond of stadiums with (partly) roofs.
Next week I'll visit Bruce in The Hague on the Malieveld (sweet memories of 1998, Bridges
tour). I think it's necessary to be close to the stage for a great experience.
Would the sound be good in the front part of the field?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I was at the front of the pitch right hand side for most of the show near the end of the show I did move to the back so I could beat the queue to buy a tshirt and the sound wasn't as good at the back.Next month I will see him again at the circus maximus in Rome which is an open field so should get a different sound.

Does anyone know if Bruce always has a separate section right at the front of stage as they had at Wembley the other night how does it work do they just let the first few thousand in that are first through the gates?
I would like to try and get in that section in Rome if they have it there.

Nate thumbs up

In the states they had a lottery for wrist bands to get into the front section. You had to be there about 4 hours before the show. I would check with the venue for info closer to the show. It might work different for stadium shows.

Unbelievable great show at The Hague last night. About 3:30 hours of joy and energy.
The man is huge, there's no other way to put it. And his band is serving him well.
The Dutch crowd was wild, participating at every little invitation, and beyond.
Bruce took us from there even a little further, coming close to a television evangelist
at some moments, like James Brown in the Blues Brothers.

Setlist (thanks to setlist.fm, because my memory messes things up a bit):

    Badlands
    No Surrender
My Love Will Not Let You Down
From Small Things (Big Things One Day Come)(tour debut)
    Sherry Darling
    Night
    Spirit in the Night
    My City of Ruins
    Jersey Girl (tour debut)
    Hungry Heart
    Out in the Street
You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)
    Death to My Hometown
    The River
Racing in the Street (tour debut)
    The Promised Land
    Working on the Highway
    Darlington County
    Waitin' on a Sunny Day
    I'm on Fire
    Because the Night
    The Rising
    Thunder Road
    Land of Hope and Dreams
    Jungleland
    Born to Run
    Seven Nights to Rock
    Detroit Medley
    Dancing in the Dark
    Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
    Shout
    This Hard Land (acoustic)

BTW, for anyone who's interested, I was standing about 10 meters behind the "pit",
a bit on Little Steven's side.
Sound was really good at my position, though in the first three songs the sound mechanics
seemed to have troubles to get the right mix. After that it was fabulous.
There were no echoes at all.

100 different songs done in 48 shows so far, still 27 shows to go

I really love that song. I'm surprised he stopped playing it as it's "new" by The River standards.

If you think about it we really don't need to go to work. There is Skype (for Meetings) , VPN access, e-mail etc.. One can practically work from anywhere. I prefer to go to my cube most of the time. Personal interaction is sometimes advantageous and there are friends at work. However, these days you really don't need to call in sick. Simply work from home. However, if your Internet Provider is some crazy company such as Comcast(I deal with them more than family) and there is a service outage then you are stranded and strategy does not work.

Went to Berlin for the weekend to see Springsteen and this was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.He really is an amazing performer with so much enthusiasm and energy.I got a normal pitch ticket at the last minute and somehow managed to work my way into the premium front of stage section with the help of a friendly steward spinning smiley sticking its tongue out I have some great photos I took of Bruce singing and playing right in front of me I will upload them onto here later in the week.
If you like the music of Springsteen and have never seen him play live then try to get along to a show on this tour it will be a night you won't forget.

Nate thumbs up

Yeah, very true. Saw Berlin concert (my first one from Springsteen) and it was nothing but magnificent by any means. Yes, it's not a "River" tour anymore (6 songs from Born in the USA, 5 songs from River), but the fun was tremendous and memories will stay with me forever (complete with photos I took from the pit).

62 676 in the audience, 38 songs over 3 hours and 58 minutes in Gothenburg yesterday, Midsummer's Day.
Bruce will play one more concert in Gothenburg before he leaves (plus an added one in late July). All sold out.
