martinw that is a good article. From the article, it sure sounds like these half-masters are good pressings. Yes!

Interesting to hear about the retailers not getting their Exiles they ordered. I did receive a shipping confirmation from Abbey Road saying it was dispatched, so waiting for it on this end in the US. I hope it gets here!

Has anyone received their copy? Reviews?

Yes, that's what stated the original Abbey Road Studios page on EOMS :

Got mine. Nice package but can't say there's any noticeable sound improvement to my ears

First listening tonight for ROCKS OFF.

I have four vinyl versions :
ESS 50050 which is the japanese version
COC 2-2900 which is the USA version
COC 69100 which is the european one (or at least sold in France at the time)
And of course the new Abbey Road version.

I will have to listen each one properly this week end when I have time but for now a few notes of Rocks off makes me think the USA version reminds the best one. Dynamics clarity and rich sound.

Listened on Linn LP 12 and DEVIALET 400 amplifiers.

My copy arrived today. I will wait till the weekend when I can hunker down with a nice scotch and smoke and devote my ears to comparing the four copies I have.

Not all DSD to PCM (wav) converters are equal... Some are better than others.

I listened to the first side last night. Fantastic! The half speed master is miles ahead of the 2010 remaster. No comparison. Full mid-range, great bass response, and a beautiful clear pressing. More to come later.

I have to confirm that this release is a must, inside there is a voucher for downloading wav version and create your own cd; there are great improvements in clarity and especially I noticed the sharpest stereo separation ever. What a pleasure is listening to these tracks!

Yeah, I finished listening last night. Amazing clarity, fantastic pressing. But! One of the LPS is warped. Seems to be such a common problem now. It hasn't effected the sound, but it irritating in light of how much this cost. So I sent an. I got a return email this morning and they want me to take a picture of it and email them back.

Excellent. Best vinyl...Therefore best version ... of Exile I have. Worth the money. Great stereo, lots of warmth low down and the bass is lovely.

Sounds excellent, indeed. But fine-tuning my japanese "flat-transfer" SACD released a couple of years ago through my (external) EQ leads to the very same sonic experience, so I have my doubts that the new vinyl is indeed from a "better" master tape.

I just ordered this from the Universal link provided above(page 3)....lookin forward to it....

I received my copy last week. I just listened to side 1 on my Grado headphones. I think that the sound is excellent. Of course, I would have to listen to all my copies of this to judge it, but so far I like it a whole lot. I'm glad that I acquired it.

No not me with the Super deluxe, but it happened with the Brussels live box set. They did take a return and mailed a new one.
I went back to Exile last night and it is a strange warp.It seems to be just the lead in part and plays fine. So I think I am ok with it.

That was a crazy good discounted deal - I think it was half price or less at only about $150?
It's monumental, and currently the centerpiece of my Stones collection.
Looking now on rs.com and it isn't available anymore at any price.

I'll settle for a bootleg vinyl copy of "Bedspring Symphony". I've got the cd of Bruxelles. Now it's time for a new Ronnie album or a new Stones album (in that order!) I'm still crossing my fingers that Ronnie will one day release his magnificent "I Feel Like Playing" on vinyl someday.

After listening to the entire album, I am pretty impressed. I would say it is as good as my Japanese import from the 80s. And the pressing is pristine. No pops, or surface noise at all. And very good bass response and mid range. No compression heard at all! NADA! This is a great mastering job. The certification, download card, and the postcards all add to this being a great job.

I am impressed and want to get the Cream Disraeli Gears mono.

It is available. I suspect the pre-order is for particular sites waiting to get their deliveries. But I also think they aren't going to get them. I think it is sold out.
