Not a great lover of U2 stuff these days. Seen them once at Twickenham ,enjoyed the gig, but wouldn't bother again unless I got a freebie.

Mick obviously has and with the hospitality etc. he's had a good night out. winking smiley

U2, loved them in 1980,1990. Not the 2000-2010 etc.
Seen them many times, small clubs too, in Holland.
Last time Amsterdam arena, about 6 years ago. rather forget about that concert, cant remember much about it anyway.

hahahaha

Thankfully they didn't attempt that God forsaken version of Gimme Shelter they did together a few years back.

Thanks for the pics! Looking good Mick :-)

I always wonder if he's at U2 shows (seems he drops in on them)
to check out how they are entertaining the masses (stage, etc.)

Looks like he's giving The Edge tips on how to pick up on chicks.
How to talk to them, with them, and not at them, etc.
By the third pic, you can see the confidence in the Edge's posture!

Any idea who the bell bottomed beauty is sitting next to Mick? Obviously enraptured by his every word judging from the brief glance.

I'm glad bell bottoms are back in. Mick would look good in them.

You are wrong, he suggests Edge to wear a wig instead of his "hat"... smileys with beer

U2 was a great live band back in 1987-92
The Stones have been a great live band for over 50 years.

By the way does anybody know why men in their 50's are still calling themselves The Edge and/or Bono? Imagine a meeting with one of them..."Hello I am The Edge...hahahahahah or a conversation between these two: "Hi hallo Bono everything allright".... "Not so good Edge, I can't sleep because I am worrying maybe you should start to wear a wig"

They are discussing business.....as the ins and outs of domiciling your corporations tax free in Holland. Story goes that Keith told Bono/U2 about this little trick. I prolly read that in the UK Daily Mail a few years ago.

Mick must be a fan. He was at a Chicago U2 show during the Zip Code tour also.
Twice in less than six months.

He probably admires the well-oiled money machine in U2...

Seroiusly Mick must covete U2's collective desire to make their music evolve with the times. While "at home" he has Keef who vetoes any change to the sound.

U2 are not my favourite band, I was at their first London show on the 25th and I really enjoyed it. It was my first time seeing them live and it was a fantastic show with an intimate feel. When it comes to music,as with anything else, someone trash is someone else's treasure>grinning smiley<

Mutual admiration perhaps? U2 have the following Stones tribute snippets in

0'59 - Stones Hyde Park 69
2'23 - Keef early 60s

They also covered Paint It Black in the early 90s:

So this thread is turning into yet another The Rolling Stones vs U2. Yeah, just perfect. What's the big deal? Mick likes U2 and Ronnie Wood is more into Harry Styles and One Direction. It's no hangin' matter, it's no capital crime.....

Mick likes to check out U2's Live stage presentation to see what they are up to.
