this is a fabulous foto!
yes, it definitely has a brechtian shimmer to it.
the rolling stones have been uncanny with their brechtian presentation of rock and roll - midnight rambler is epic theatre in galvanizing minutes rather than in hours. street fighting man and sympathy and gimmie shelter are political theatre in musical sets
the part of the brechtian technique the shows do not reach for is the alienation effect to create a distancing effect on the audience - but! if the audience is considered to be a component of the show -- as a chorus almost -- while realizing the theatrical process being presented, i think the band has been entirely successful in bringing this presentational style of theatre to the concert stage -- and with what poetry and music and scenic projections and set design! mick jagger is not a maniac serial killer nor is he a slave holder or lucifer - he is a representative of a reality of these figures. and the audience might be encouraged to think what their own world holds from being a part of these presentations
oh good lord! probably not what most people are thinking of at a stones show...
but what a band!

HAHAHAAAAA! Well, we've all there with crappy pics, and the 80's were especially horrific when it came to clothes and hairstyles. Mick was not immune to those horrors.

that blue jacket picture IS scary-
from his age and the haircut it seems to be from around 89.
he's either wearing contact lenses or he just smoked a joint but the crazy eyes,the over sprayed hair and that suit just give me an uneasy feeling that at some point crazy cult leader may have been on the table as one of his side projects.

Mick is fascinating, the camera never quite captures him, he is liquid, he and Keith have a way of looking washed up and beat, and then 2 days later miraculously they are re energised. When i saw Keith at the Town and Country club he was liquid limbed. I think they are Archons. You people have no idea what i'm on about do you lol
