If you get Netflix, check out the new movie about her, "What Happened, Miss Simone?" What a wonderful artist she was and what a voice. If ya ain't gotten into her music, check out her blues and jazz albums for a start.

Lucky enough to have seen her twice in LA (Wiltern)...really, she was an unbelievable talent, so underrated.

I even named my little girl after her...

Nina crossed paths, quite notoriously, with Blood Sweat & Tears. I don't think she met the Stones, though she went on record as saying nice things about Eric Burdon and the Animals.

That's believable. Her rendition of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood is quite something. She was a true powerhouse; a genuine talent, trying, and succeeding, in breaking free from a troubled environment.

She thought Blood, Sweat & Tears murdered God Bless The Child.

I agree with Nina on that, but also think that BST did a good version of Traffic's Smiling Phases.

John Lennon was a great admirer of Nina.
He was probably attracted to her vulnerability and brave political views as much as her music. Did a great cover of Revolution.
Nina-Amy-Janis...quite a year for documentaries.
Cilla Black next?!
