Here we go: the dawn of the Johnny Football era. God help us all!grinning smiley

Kinda funny last night... I was switching over to the game on commercials of whatever "program of cinematic excellence" that my wife had chosen for us to watch and just happened to catch a play where the Cleveland quarterback seemed to run around in 2-3 circles avoiding the rush before throwing an incompletion out of bounds. Watching (laughing at) the play, I didn't realize that it was Manzell playing quarterback until the announcers mentioned it. I laughed at my thought of, "Oh that explains it. At least he's gotten smart enough to throw the ball away." That one play kind of reminded me of the old "Doug Flutie Days"... Except for the fact that I was a big Doug Flutie fan and could care less about Manzell.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Great day of NFL action yesterday. Lots of close games. My AFC faves, the Raiders, put up a valiant effort against the Steelers. I think the Raiders are going to be a force to reckoned with next season & definitely not to be taken lightly this year. I did pretty good on Pick 'em. Only missed 3. Given the amount of upsets, not too bad. Tonight is kind of a yawner but that's ok. I need a good yawn, haha. GO HAWKS!

Holy crap. Minnesota is in first place. When's the last time that happened? I truly can not remember.

Saints... SHAKE MY HEAD.

Packers having some issues.

Yesterday was the first time this season the Steelers didn't have a sack. Carr does a good job getting rid of the ball. Steelers put some hurt on the Raiders, though. Great game.

Packers having some issues.

In fairness to them, the combined records of the teams who've beaten them is 15-1...

"I hope you didn't record any of this""No I didn't"

Uh huh. And this is because... they had a bye this weekend so they didn't lose or because they're 4-4?

Pretty weak schedule of games this weekend with the exception of Sunday Night Football. Am getting my gear ready & game face on. Going to be chilly tonight. The torrential downpours of the last few days have eased off though. Hawks win a tight one 20-17, IMHO. GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!smoking smiley

Packers have many issues and don't seem to get anything going until desperation mode in the last 10 minutes of the game. Is this when Rodgers gets to call his own plays? McCarthey gave up play calling after his conservative calling cost the Packers the playoff game last year but this year seems even worse. The Packers take on Minnesota next week and the final regular season game so I think they need to win both of those games to take the division.

IF Peyton plays. He got pulled after throwing several interceptions. Maybe he's trying to take over Brett Favre's record for interceptions too.

So Arizona, Carolina, and maybe Minnesota are the top 3 in NFC (oh, but watch out for those Redskins!)

Went to a bar to watch the Steelers beat the Browns. Great game! I thought Manzeil actually played very well for the Browns. Why isn't he starting? Also, I couldn't believe how the Ravens found yet another way to lose. A face mask on what should have been the last play of the game. What a dismal season for them!
