The date on the drawings is 19th May....just 9 days after Mick suggested at the press conference that they were still very vague about what the stage concept would be like
I'd be surprised if it was finished so early prior to a tour. usually theyre still working on it up until the final few weeks.
I find these huge stages absolutely awful. And I think they don't suit the rolling stones at all (as a band and the music). It comes to a point where the thing is so big you don't even notice there actually is a band playing somewhere. Licks was a very well balanced compromise. It reminded the stage of RHCP during the californication tour: as of today one of the best stages I've seen.
The Stones are huuuuge! So this stage suits them very well. I always thought they were the best to perform on a gigantic stage. No one can handle such a monstrous construction better than they do.
I must agree with liddas. Gigantic stages like this won't help focus on the band. I can see articles in the press already: How many trucks used, how many miles of power cables, how many watts and other unnecessary BS
