Anyone know, just off the top of their head? I'm guessing it's about half the album.

I don't know of them ever playing Hip Shake, Casino, Sweet Black Angel, Turd, Ventilator Blues, Just Wanna See His Face, Let It Loose, Stop Breaking Down or Soul Survivor live...hopefully after this tour I can take Sweet Black Angel and Let It Loose of that list!

Yeah, what about Stop Breakin Down, Torn And Frayed (sometimes?), Sweet Black Angel (semi-often?), Turd On The Run, Ventilator Blues, I Just Want To See His Face?

Soul Survivor has been subject for this before; and Rip This Joint I just heard on Brussels Affair, which I just got.

Is Lovin´ Cup played much after 72; and did they play it much as "Gimme Little Drink"?

And has Rocks Off & ADTL been played often during the latest tours?

Sweet Black Angel was played live in 1972.

As far as I'm aware, the songs which haven't been played live are...

Shake Your Hips
Casino Boogie
Turd On The Run
Ventilator Blues
I Just Want To See His Face
Let It Loose
Soul Survivor

See tracks 153-170 on this list for the first and last performances of each song from "Exile on main street"

Shake Your Hips, Casino Boogie, Turd on the run, I Just wanna see his face, Let it loose and Soul Survivor have never been performed live

Ventilator Blues (Vancouver 3.6.72), Sweet Black Angel (Fort worth 24.6.72 1st show) and Stop Breaking Down (Miami PPV show 25.11.94 with Robert Cray) have all been performed once only

Ventilator Blues was also played once in 72, I think the first show. Shake Your Hips was rehearsed but that's it. Lovin Cup was played several times on the Licks tour and once or twice in 1972. I wish they put Lovin Cup on Four Flick or Live Licks.

Loving Cup was actually played at Hyde Park, three years before it was released

Never in 1969 or 1970 tours? Or 72-73?

Loving Cup was played on the 72 tour at a few shows, yes (5 of the first 7). That list only mentions the first and last time it was played.

It was only played at Hyde Park, then 5 times in 1972 and then not again until 2002

It is said that Soul Survivor might have been played at the Chicago June 20,1972 early(first) show but,no recording or proof has surfaced, if it even exists.I don't know how true this is.Also,a live rehearsal version of Let It Loose from '72 is in circulation in great sound quality however,as posted before,it has never been done in concert.I put both of these songs on my RS.com set list.

Stop breaking down has been played in Miami 1994 with Robert Cray on stage, Mick makes a serious timing mistake there, maybe that's why it is only played once...

I don't have the concert on tape anymore but i know that version of stop breaking down by heart. Where did Mick go wrong?

Cheers,
Wuudy

Beep! Wrong! It´s a nearly perfect rendition of the song. So they had another reason not to play it anymore. Maybe too many soloing in it?

Soul Survivor and Sweet Black Angel would be nice on this tour.

Loving Cup was played at the Garden on the last tour. The swing through NY before they did the PPV. The highlight of the night for me, having been one I hadn't heard live before.

The guitars are messy and Charlie takes a chance, but gets in wrong. The funny thing is that it takes almost a verse for the boys to get in sync smiling smiley

The Miami PPV of Stop Breaking Down is an awesome version. That's one song that I never paid much attention to, but I liked it afterward. They do screw up the timing during the intro. Charlie has to just play his hi hat for a few beats to get everyone in sync. It's weird that if they'd never played the song live before, why they would choose to do that song with Robert Cray? Perhaps he was familiar with the original version?
Since he played with Keith on the Hail Hail Rock and Roll documentary for Chuck Berry, I thought they would choose a Berry song to play.

as Cray is a blues afficionado, he would indeed be more than familiar with Robert Johnson's original...any blues musician would, its a standard (Bob Dylan even quoted some of the lyrics in his Grammy acceptance speech in '98)

The "Exile" version of Stop Breakin' Down is one of my favourite Stones tracks ever. To me, its always been a notable oversight that theyve never played it apart from that PPV performance with Cray. Wasnt crazy about that version to be honest - I guess I've always just really wanted to hear the Stones blow the crap out if it by themselves in concert!
