"I tried to look away as Lisa Fischer hit the catwalk to do her thing on "Gimme Shelter." There are a lot of gullible folks out there lapping up her wailing." -- Dean Goodman

Great line. This nonsense epitomizes "Vegas" to me.

hey dean. thanks for the robert johnson mention. didn't know it, now i's do. and you may be happy to know that out in the hinterlands of silverville they turned off lisa's mic. did the same thing in KC, too.

from my spot it was a white hot show. behind the handicap platform, main stage side speakers blasting in your face at 11. loudest, clearest ever. pure guitar dominance. every nuance of sound they made on stage came through the speakers. did not know keith fell. never showed up in his guitar playing after that crash. that was the problem with this venue. saw a grand total of 3 minutes of them on the stage. thank God for the TV screens.

saw way too much "get off my lawn" to suit me. two sixty something clown couples in front of me had three blankets out, taking up a space around 15' to 10'. one 4' by 4' section was empty. it was pathetically selfish. and it created an open spot that people naturally gravitated to on their runs to the port-a-potties. so yeah, constant hassle.

also noticed no local song reference, a la 'hang on sloopy', and no thank you. wonder what took place behind the scenes? knebworth '76 BS style hassles from the venue?

Close up video of Keith's tumble. He actually wasn't jogging anymore, seems he was trying to clear something from the stage (read it was a hat) with his foot, and lost his balance.

[youtu.be]

It doesn't look that bad, hard to tell. Hopefully he's feeling fine today.

He seems fine, luckily. And the video makes it clear (to me, anyway) that, as you say, he was trying to clear something with his foot, he didn't just keel over because of old age, as others seem to be suggesting. eye rolling smileygrinning smiley

Did anybody catch the Rascal Flatts set yesterday? Haven't heard how that went down. Did they blow the Stones off the stage as expected? winking smiley

''I missed the first opening act, alas. But I made an effort to see Rascal Flatts. I had no idea that they had covered Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane's most excellent "Life is a Highway." Now, can I possibly try to erase this nugget? Yes, they are just as bad as you'd expect. Three dudes who spend too much time at the hairdresser, then go home to jerk off in a mirror, the main one stuffing his mouth with donuts at the same time. Let us never speak of them again.'' - Dean Goodman

If they stopped playing that f---king song for the 10000th time it would not have happened

to me, something like this happening is a reminder of how amazing what they are doing at their age is. my parents are keith's age and they have certainly had their share of spills, and there is no way they would take a 2 hour walk unassisted much less play 2 hours on stage.

like a true pro, you get up, and carry on, the show must go on. well done keith.

I think there some other songs as well... They're never going to get up on a smaller stage again like in L&G and represent. At any given time, even without the time allotted in Miss You, either Keith or Ronnie or both of them are going to be clowning around posing with the guitar up in the air. Maybe there will be a little less running for a couple of shows.
