humanriff77, glad to hear someone else knows the James Chance/White! Definitive hard, angular funk version of "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" & the truly harrowing "King Heroin" - these were off the top of my head, so I did forget many gems, I'm sure!

An intersting concept re: Neil Young's "Time Fades Away" - followup to the # 1 "Harvest" was a live album of all new material - didnt do nearly so well (# 22 peak, bad reviews), but stands up as classic imo. Only other time I can think of something similar was Lou Reed's "Street Hassle" which had some live cuts heavily worked over (to sound more bizarre?) in the studio.
