he died to soon to be recognized enough for his great song writing ,his great soulful voice,his original style of playing.most of what we are left with is his wildman style which was just a small part of what he did.
they say if you want to see how good someone really is take away their amp..
my all time favorite footage of jimi is him sitting on a barstool with an acoustic guitar,just quietly playing and singing the blues.
it is so fcking good,it's like having a video of robert johnson.

The holy grail of Jimi's music for me (IMHO) is his "Red House" from San Diego Sports Arena, May 25, 1969. Unbelievable. Unbelievable! Unbelievable!! You find that track on "Hendix In The West".
