it's the finger pointing and gesticulating. there's a time and place for everything and he needs to learn that.
He has not been able to detach himself from his stage persona in the movies. His best acting was in Performance but he was portraying a rock star and he was good in Bent as well. As for the restQuote

Thank you for posting thomashanck, I can see how much more powerful the scene work Kinski on his own is. But maybe, Kinski could have brought something out in Mick and helped him to improve his acting; had he been able to return.

Yeah, but they haven´t been on the set together, Mick somehow had a tour to do (I always wondered how Herzog dealt with that?!?)
and Jason Robards got ill - Herzog called up his all-time weapon Kinski.
I understood they somehow mixed the 2 roles up in one, right?

I read somewhere ages ago that Mick found it really hard working in the jungle, but I thought that he loved adventurous travelling

could be because of his being sent to camps back in the jungle.

Ain't impossible to tailor a role around that. I would pay to see him as the tweed-clad gospel preacher of a mafia-financed megachurch or something.

whether intentional or not, you've come up with an absolutely brilliant idea Nikkei.
