Thank you for posting thomashanck, I can see how much more powerful the scene work Kinski on his own is. But maybe, Kinski could have brought something out in Mick and helped him to improve his acting; had he been able to return.cool smiley

Mick always looks oddly displaced in the movies.

it's the finger pointing and gesticulating. there's a time and place for everything and he needs to learn that.

He has not been able to detach himself from his stage persona in the movies. His best acting was in Performance but he was portraying a rock star and he was good in Bent as well. As for the restgrinning smiley

Yeah, but they haven´t been on the set together, Mick somehow had a tour to do (I always wondered how Herzog dealt with that?!?)
and Jason Robards got ill - Herzog called up his all-time weapon Kinski.

I understood they somehow mixed the 2 roles up in one, right?

We see the light! Mick is a singer, and Kinski an actor. As Fitzcaralta is a movie, easy to understand... smoking smiley

OT but a nice story :

on the set of Fitz a (local) crew member got bitten at the foot by the deadliest snake around, a "minute" snake which meant he would die within seconds when the venom would go to his heart.

Well the gentleman grabbed a chainsaw and cut his foot off... and saved his life.

Keith would have loved being on the set! That was his type of atmosphere! >grinning smiley<

You live in Europe or the US, right? You pampered emasculated pXXXy-whipped Westerner!

We machos from Tijuana down to Ushuia gustan this story very mucho mucho >grinning smiley<

Imagine what would have happened if el crew memeber had been bitten while he was taking a leak. Chainsaw against pollo y cojones! Ouch!

Whoa nelly - or whoa dcba as the case may be! Where did I say I don't like your story?
I immediately retold it to my neighbours' children, with appropriate sound effects.
I achieved what I was aiming at. :E
Oh and by the way:

Meanwhile, back on topic: I still stay up late to see the Mick in Freejack (one Mississippi ... two Mississippi ... )
but I think he was at his best in Enigma. Actors should disappear into their roles and outside of Enigma,
the Mick just doesn't manage that. It's Hey that's Mick Jagger! all the way - which suits Freejack just fine,
and other roles not so much.

I love Nikkei's vision of casting him as a gospel preacher. Call the screenwriters! :E

Mixed up the two roles like in Performance?
'Losing Mick was the greatest loss I have ever experienced as a film director' Herzog was simply devastated.

He's having a go at Walter Saxer there... who can be briefly seen in the beginning of Herzog's previous film (Woyzeck) having a go at Kinski... grinning smiley

whether intentional or not, you've come up with an absolutely brilliant idea Nikkei.
