He's just showing he was the 2nd best drummer in The Beatles.
That's a myth. Ringo was a fantastic drummer.

Good player who fit exactly in with them ...

Played for the song and rocked it. He was really good. Hope he still plays .. There's two drummers usually in what he does now
He's had two drummers for as far back as I could remember. Concert For Bangladesh right after the Beatles was him and Keltner. I don't know if he just couldn't do it after the Beatles, but he never seemed to drum alone ever in a live setting (and most times in the studio) after The Beatles.
Mick Taylor did the over-dub..smileys with beer

These are pretty damn good. Ringo played for the song and while he rarely stood out his parts were often perfect, imo.

peace

Wow, so then at the end of I Am the Walrus, John really DID say, "I buried Paul". Who knew?

There is a great reason for Macca and Ringo to collaborate, because in addition to Macca making a cuppa tea Ringo makes a pretty mean piece of toast. Macca and Ringo go together like tea and toast after all.

And Elvis is alive and well in Kalamazoo Michigan. He's impersonating himself at the local watering hole.

Yes, the world is wrong and you are right. The Beatles were nothing but an outdated boy band.

Sheesh...

Yes, it never fails to amaze me that there are still people dunderheaded enough to assert that Ringo couldn't drum. Ringo was terrific. He never played his instrument; he played the song. And go look up the times of takes in the Recording Sessions book: take 1 will be 2:34, take 2 will be 2:35, take 5 will be 2:34. The man was a clock. He anchored some of the best records ever made and there's no other drummer I know of who could have fit that band better than Mr. Starkey.

They are fools who don't know what good drumming is. Who do these people think would have been a better drummer for The Beatles?

Don't even ask that question. Ringo was a fantastic drummer. And really an innovative drummer. Became the first "frontman" drummer for a rock band. He also kept perfect time and as The Beatles matured he added a lot of innovative style. Being one of the first rock drummers to use the roto toms. And he was never unnecessarily flashy, but could keep a rock steady beat. And he was the expert in the back beat. Read George Martin through the years and he has consistently said that Ringo rarely made a mistake in the studio. There are so many incredible examples of his innovative drumming. Rain is a tour de force. Tomorrow Never Knows, A Day in the Life, and his drumming on Plastic Ono Band is fantastic. Ringo was the perfect and only drummer The Beatles ever could have had. And Lennon never said Ringo wasn't the best drummer in The Beatles. That is an urban myth.

Yes and that must be the meaning of his T-shirt above.
