Sting is responsible for several popclassics (also as a solo artist). He's not overrated at all.

I saw him twice in concert and twice it was a great show. His performance on live 8 wadsn't good, but you can't judge him on that.

He's a very talented songwriter and brilliant bassplayer.

Sting while playing in Chicago two summers ago:

"I'm going to take my shirt off now."

Really.

How obnoxious.

"Fuc the Rock babe, I want the Roll." (KR)

LISMM63, I agree. Its hip to like Sting like its hip to hate Bush. Sting is like Bobo, always standing for some cause. I'm not saying its bad to be politically/socially motivated, just that the music shouldnt take a backseat to it. Sting is what they torture you with when you're getting your teeth pulled. Much like Kenny G, its lame. The police were great. If Sting wants to win me (and others) back, he should reform the Police and drop the contemporary adult genre.

Along with the Toten Hosen,Robbie Williams, REM, Macca, Floyd, The Who and Geldof himself, he was one of the best acts yesterday.
