Thanks, Bobby, for teaching me Sax (I didn´t know that saxophone and rockmusic fit together before I heard your solos in Stones songs when I was 15) & Drugs (I met you in Munich once, where I learnt how you drank your whisky: first the stuff, then the cola) & Rock´N´Roll (see "Sax" )
You will be missed.
I will dedicate my December radio show "Stoned" to you and your music.
May the good Lord shine a light on you...

The sax solo's on Rip This Joint and Brown Sugar. I'd tell my kids and anyone who cared to listen 'that THAT is rock n roll' RIP Bobby Keys, and thanks for the memories.
Fantastic sax player. Nice guy as well - met him very briefly a couple of times. road-weary, but so sharp - he'd seen it all.
On the same flight once and he was winding-up everyone in hearing distance (all the cabin!) in his lovely Texas drawl about the deficiencies of British Airways business class seats - really funny.
What a sad day in Rock Music. As soon as I heard about it, got a SMS from JK early in the evening, I put an original UK pressing of Sticky Fingers on my turntable, junked up the volume and was just sitting there thinking that I will never hear BS with the original sax man again.
I feel so sad about the death of somebody I never knew, but whose playing was a part of the soundtrack of my life. RIP, Bobby. You brought joy to the world.
Thank you Bobby. To echo what Aquamarine stated so perfectly, I never met you, but you were a very big part of my life through music. What a gift, and what a legacy. To your loved ones, I'm sure you will be missed, and for the rest of us, you will live on in the grooves of some of the greatest rock and roll ever. Peace,
Gutted. I'm so glad I got to see the Suffering Bastards in a small club venue here in Sydney earlier this year after the Stones Oz tour was postponed. What a great musician!
I don't think I've been more saddened by the news of the death of a person I did't know personally since Levon Helm. What a character and what a musician!
Oh. No. Another one gone too early. Just dreadful news to wake up to in Australia. RIP to Bobby and best wishes and condolences to his family and to his extended Stones family.
Sad news indeed. As fans of Bobby's music that legacy remains. The guy led a very interesting life and packed alot into his time on the planet. He made some magic with the boys, thats for sure.
I was listening to WXRT in Chicago today. A song ended and the DJ started talking, "Bobby Keys, the..." and I knew what was coming. Immediately my heart sank. I only wish he could have read these tributes before he left us. Thanks, Bobby, for all the magic.
