Hi there !

I went last Friday to Lenny's show in Lyon (France )
I never saw him live and it was a fantastic night !

Even if I was expecting that he would do more guitar solos , I was impressed by his performance ; the audience went crazy !!!
The man was magnificent , magnetic, powerful ..

Any comments and reviews ?

Hi Sway, Glad to hear it was a good show.

I haven't seen Lenny in about 20 years. Back then every song sounded the same so I wasn't too impressed.

I've seen Lenny Kravitz in a very good concert show in 1993. His support act to that time was Robert Plant, also very good.

I'm sure Lenny is still a killer live performer. I'm happy for you, that you had such a good time.

Seen him several times and no gig was less than brilliant. Goin to see him at Wembley Arena, London this Saturday.

I saw Lenny here in australia in the mid 90 's, when he had the long dreadlocks. Great show but I will never forget when he did a walk thru the audience mid show and Said " if anyone touches my hair the show is over". I am still laughing about it.

...a page out of Buddy Guy's playbook (though I'm sure others did it B4 him)....

Lenny, dunno...I really liked his second album, still do actually, even though people who knew more about music than I did at the time said he was just recycling stuff from the 70s. Not the first and not the last to do it of course...Over time I lost interest for some reason.

I remember Mick saying that when they recorded "Use Me" for WS he was amazed that Lenny the soul from the 70s inside and out when he in fact didn't although he'd lived through that period. Nothing wrong with that, but a bit weird I suppose.

Anyway I passed on seeing him this time again, I'd nearly gone in 2011 though.

Yes. Brilliant video.

Lenny's gig seems definitely like a something no less than incredible. Still waiting for a South America tour.

The only thing that really is a dealbreaker for me, at least, is the quality from his latest albuns. They aren't really close to "5", Circus or "Let Love Rule".

Darn, I missed this one. My friend went and claimed it was excellent with extended jamming and all Rock And Roll. Think he said no ballads at all.

I posted my impressions from his Amsterdam show here.

The show took us back into the 70s indeed, and I thought that was a good thing.
I was amazed that the setlist contained only 14 songs and still lasted over 2 hours.
Long improvising jams during many songs, and some interplay with the audience as well.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

I seen him open for the Cult in 1992...great show! His new cd "Strut" is good too.
