Love Jeff Beck. Without question one of my top 3 favorites. I love this disc. I know the 80s sound bothers some but I like it. A well written disc. Wore it out when it was released and still listen to it now. My favorite 3 songs at
She's The Boss
1/2a Loaf
Runnin out of Luck

Didn't Mick himself play guitar on several tracks? And I thought Nile Rodgers was on Just Another Night?

Happy Birthday, Jeff Beck, 61 today. This time last year I was about to see him at the Royal Albert Hall complete with cameo appearence by our very own Ron Wood.

excellent guitarist Jeff Beck, but there just isn't one song by him that appeals to me. A bit the same as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Useless technical noodling to.

I wish Jeff beck would find a true band that he was part of. Might be too late in life though. He is such a gifted musician. But he can not write a tune to save his life and also can not sing. So he needs to always have a collaborator. And he ended up with the pseudo jazz people. With the Rock crowd he neesm to never stick and /or get along. He kniows he's a badass and expexts to get paid well and demands superstar treatment. he sounds like a primadonna to me. With a killer frontman he could have been a superstar.
There is one song by him that actually almost makes me cry. I have never heard a guitar talk like that. It is his version of "Goodbye Porkpie Hat" Fantastic!

Hey yeah you nailed it Mathijs....Useless technical noodling.

But Mr Keith & Mr Tom have told us all about That Feel.

But there's one thing you can't lose
And it's that feel
You can pawn your watch and chain
But not that feel
It always comes and finds you
It will always hear you cry
I cross my wooden leg
And I swear on my glass eye
It will never leave you high and dry
Never leave you loose
It's harder to get rid of than tattoos

If you don't like his version of People Get Ready there's no hope for you.

I love all his variations from pre-Yardbirds to his eponymous album; but some more than others. I do wish he'd find a vocalist with Rod's capabilities that he actually gets on with; it shouldn't be impossible as a lot of this finest work is on other people's albums.
