Is your better half a STONES FAN?
Posted by: shidoobee ()

When a new tour is comming up, most fans start planning, trying to find money and time to see the Stones as many times as possible. Mut I know there are a few wives, husbands, boyfriends and girlfriends out there who intensely dislike their better halves going on tour... Any lucky bastards out there who share the Stones passion with their partner? Or is hell breaking loose on August 19th, when we go to Boston? I'm kidnapping my boyfriend to Boston... He knows nothing. But he's a true fan and deserves to go. All the best.

No unfortunately, not at all! She likes Sting, A-ha and Bertine Zetlitz.

Since Cirkus in Stockholm she enjoys coming with me and travelling around. But I still had to pursuade her to go to the States. What's nice about the concerts today is, that you can relax a day and do sightseeing. So it will be Rolling Stones West Coast holiday with features like a long train ride from Portland to Anaheim, surely some Museums or Gardens and meeting friends. She even asked me to extend the timeframe so that we can cover also San Diego.
I'm a happy man....

I have no problem with my girlfriend. She adores Keith and this tour is sponsering the trips, so far we have 4 shows tickets in hands, and a 5th in toronto that we'll be trying the day of the show. Since I'm part Portguese and she is part Irish we're deciding if going to Protgual and maybe England for a mini vacation. We could go to Sweden as she is part Swedish also, would love to try Ireland but no mention of the boys playing there this tour. I'd have to say that I am also a lucky man.

My former better half was a stones fan, even if not an hardcore one! That was one more reason to love her...

Yes she is, but not as mad about it as me!

She would go crazy though if I even suggested going to a Stones gig without her.

I think I've bust a button on my trousers....

No she's not, she likes Worried about you and Slave (the outtake versions) and Separately but that's about it. Love them too. And she refers to them as apes. And she thinks Mick's done heroin. And she doesnt fancy Keith. But - she does love the telecaster custom '72 (and the de luxe '74)- good taste indeed.

My wife wasant at first, but after the first concert she went to she has been to everyone i have been to and wouldent miss them now and if we wasant in the process of buying another property i think we would be looking to go the usa for a concert, but fingers crossed for one in europe, not including the uk.

In fact she is trying to encourage members of her family to go next year.

No, she is a big REM's fan. But she was very, very enthusiastic during the concert of the Stones in Athens, in 1998. Ten months later we went to see REM and after the show she told me: "I have to admit it, the Stones are three scales higher than REM and two scales higher than U2". I was at odds with her: The Stones were four scales higher than REM and three scales higher than U2...

Wife is tolerant at best. She's into country, Elvis, and old school rap. She does like Far Away Eyes and some of the other Stones country songs.

My wife loves Elvis and Dire Straits a bit, but usually she is well without pop or rock. The Stones is too angry and nervous music to her taste. So I think she has a tipycal female attitude. But our 4 children (age: 6-11) loves so much the Stones. They used to roll up the carpits and listen to CDs very loud and dance and imitate Mick, Keith, Ron and Charlie. Everybody has got the role, they used to dress up like our boys . My oldest is of course Mick.Though I got 3 boys and one girl and she is not so enthusiastic but wants to be in the clan so she is the drummer. Often I can't tolerate this game because Im tired and they are so wild!!! I promised to my son that he can come with me next year to see the STONES.

My husband didn't appreciate The Stones very much. He had never met a Stones fan such as myself. He just couldn't relate Until, We saw them together in D.C. in 94. Now, he takes me to see them every time they tour no matter how broke we are. Life is good. Later y'all, cw

My wife has been to about twelve Stones shows with me, including all five UK shows in 1999.

Dont think she cared much about them until she went to Wembley with me in 1990. She doesnt care much for all the partying and socialising side of it and likes to get a seat at the shows, so she normally only goes to a couple of shows each tour these days (both Dublin last time out)

She was also so pissed off at a very critical Daily Mail article that attacked Mick for being "past it" a year or so ago that (completely uncharacteristically) she wrote into the editor to complain about it....lol

She ain't a fan
She respects my passion, and that's the most important thing
Still she wants to come to one show at least next summer (plus maybe a club if we're lucky to get one)
The funny thing is that she realised with me that a lot of songs she liked on the radio were from the Stones.

She thinks Keith was soooooooo cute when he was younger (end of the 60ies - early 70ies)

My girlfriend thinks:

Mick is one of the sexiest men on the planet,

Keith has a sexy voice (she sometimes orders me to show Little T&A on video LSTNT 1982, "fantastic song")

Ron is cute and friendly

Bill is ugly (I don't agree)

they write wonderful lyrics (we use to analyse their lyrics and then listen to the song. She was mighty impressed with Somethings just stick in your mind a few days ago)

they are the best and coolest band on the planet

it goes without saying that we will go and see them on tour.

I've turned my wife on to the Stones in the past couple of years. I took her to her first Stones concert at Giants Stadium on the Licks tour. Since then, she's had a new respect for Mick and the boys. She's not as die-hard as I am....but she's working on it. We'll be attending the East Hartford show this August. But no partying for her beforehand in the parking lot....she'll be 7 months pregnant with our first baby. It's always good to have a designated driver after the show....lol.

My wife is not at all a Stones fan. She has a completely different taste in music. However . . .she does understand my passion and doesn't mind at all when I got to see them. When you think about it, it means I only need to buy ONE ticket, and if I go with friends, they buy their own.

My wife has been to many shows in the late 80's and early 90's...but now refuses to go...so FRIG her!!!!!!!!

I am thinking about taking my 17 year old son and his buddy....even though they are not Stones fans..YET!!!!!!!!...I think it would be cool for them to see a real rock show from the KINGS themself......but HOLY CHIT ...the ticket prices!!

My girlfriend is getting into the Stones because of me, she was not really a fan before, she likes stuff like Dave Matthews. But one thing that really impressed me is that when I first started playing them for her she commented about how much she liked the guitars and she also loves the live bootlegs, her favorite is Beast of Burden from Out On Bail. So since then I have made her a few cds and she likes what she hears. She calls my obsession with the Stones "cute."

Recognising the fact that not everybody is/can be turned into a Stones fan can indeed save you helluva lotta money.

Hey Keith!
You know, Budapest is a huge city, so im not sure, if i ever met the chick (sorry: the good friend of yours). But if she lives here, tell her to come to a concert of my band Rooster. We play a couple of stones-songs too, and it would be nice to get her known.
Bless ya
