I am thinking sitar on 'Paint it Black' and allowed to play acoustic on 'Satisfaction'

Probably all of them.

After Mick Taylor left, he likely would have been the first one they called. By then he might have gotten himself sorted out and all the conflicts of the previous decade would have been water under the bridge.

Once a Rolling Stone, always a Rolling Stone.

Ruby Tuesday. Huge contribution to that song. The fabulous HP2 performance was a good attempt to replicate the original.

same as Bill Wyman – playing two songs at two show, then leaving in anger (or being sacked) for a second time, saying that he will never again etc

Interesting question and a fair analogy. Well if he was restricted like
Mick Taylor he would hopefully play "popeye the sailor man" during
Satisfaction as he would occasionally during the 60's just to piss
Off Mick and Keth.

thumbs down

Dreaming about what if...... is rather distasteful you think?

I find it rather distasteful you think that Brian Jones is not worth dreaming off about anymore.

Paint it Black. This time playing it on the sitar and not on the guitar like he did in 66-67 live, or when Keith played it live on an acoustic. An authentic live version of Paint it Black. And the list would actually be endless. Slide guitar, recorder, keyboards, harmonica, lead and rhythmn guitar. There would be plenty to choose from but Black would be the ultimate.

His slide on Little Red Rooster was awesome so that would be my choice.

I seriously doubt that after Mick Taylor left Brian would have been the first person they would have called. From what it sounds like, by the time he was fired no one in the band was particularly fond of him. And listening to the interviews from later in the bands career Keith especially seems to have a pretty visceral dislike of him.
Now perhaps as 50th anniversary spot he would have come for one song. And it seems a blues song or a song he gave a unique signature to, like Ruby Tuesday, Paint it Black, or No Expectations.

Whatever Mick Jagger would tell him to play on (just like Taylor now).

Same as the rest of them have been doing since 1975. What, when and how.
