Favourite drums

What is your favourite drums/percussion in Stones songs? Here are some of mine:

Not Fade Away - it's wild in some way
Get Off Of My Cloud - I love this pounding tone
All Sold Out - great rolls on snares and toms with a cymbal at the end (btw. this track is a lost gem, it could be a great inspiration for garage rock and grunge)
Sympathy for the Devil - great rhythm and everything
Undercover of the Night - Charlie and Sly Dunbar are really rocking out together
How Can I Stop - real masterpiece, esp. the ending

Honky Tonk Woman - Love You Live

Carol - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
Stray Cat Blues - Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
Little Queenie - Get Yer Ya Ya's Out

Those all have moments that send chills up my spine.
Only Charlie could play those grooves and licks like that.

For me it has to be Sway - Charlie is so in the pocket on this one.

I also love his drumming on Moonlight Mile, great work with the mallets.

Indeed, but it's not performed by the Stones, and was a Mick Solo tune.

Who's the drummer then, very fat sound, splendid groove / and to the point bass drum. I thought it was Watts?

Gene Parsons is the drummer on this track.

You can hear one of his cool drummer traits on Memo From Turner.
When he does a cymbal crash, he backs it with a snare hit rather that a kick drum.
Just like he does on stuff like "Lover of the Bayou" on the Byrds Untitled album.

It was indeed a joint design. It was originally known as the Pasrons White B-Bender.

Just a few where Charlie's briliant:

street fighting man
send it to me
let me go
I don't know why
she's so cold
rocks off
tumbling dice
loving cup
if you can't rock me
live with me
just my imagination
respectable
rock and a hard place
almost hear you sigh
brown sugar
sway
can't you hear me knocking
bitch
slave
twenty flight rock
going to a go go
sparks will fly
high wire

It may sound simple, however it's just that great pounding skip and off beat of the great drum bridge in Gimme Shelter. Not a drumming masterpiece but for the purpose of creating and contributing to the subtle storm of this song, I just can't think of a more powerfull piece.

And this from a guy who's dad was a percussionist, I had drum music writen for me by Pete Best, hey and I just bumped into someone from my town who confirmed they took drum lessons from Pete during the same period.
