That compilation is fantastic

There is a bootleg/public domain compilation on the "Purple Chick" label/name that tops anything that's commercially available.

Yeah, the 10 cdr Purple CHick is the BEST!! Every song or snippet of song ever recorded, played on or produced by Buddy!! The last disc even reproduces the 45s that he was listening to on tour. It has all the undubbed versions and different overdub sessions that were done years after his death to keep the product going. Also has a copy of the phone conversations Buddy had with the double talking cat from Decca...

If you don't have the dough, or wherewithal to track those down, The Buddy Holly Collection on MCA ain't bad. It's got 50 cuts and covers the highlights and includes a few rarities. You can find it used on Amazon for as low as $10 used, including shipping. Nice booklet too.

I still got my Buddy Holly compilation, bought somewhere in the early 70's - 9 LP's, pity is missed some songs due to a single best of LP they released in the same period.

Man!! I played those record a lot................
